I'm never going to get psyched by a Frank Miller project ever again, especially if he's writing it.

Thats true. I hate to be negative but the second Dark Knight by Miller was a giant screw you to the fans IMO. He did not even try to make it good.

Sweet! I also can't wait for Holy Terror.

I want to be excited, absolutely. I mean, Neal Adams Batman? Get outta town! But the phrase "once bitten, twice shy" comes to mind. I poke fun at All-Star Batman, but I had forgotten about what happened with "The Dark Knight Strikes Back" until reading this thread gave me a post-traumatic flashback. When the artist officially announcing the project is asked how many issues it will be and doesn't know if it's six issues, seven issues, or eight issues... well, I'll buy it when the last issue comes out. Should I live so long.

When Jim Lee gets late, the tough (or noir obsessed) get Neal Adams.

It's too bad Oeming isn't taking over. You can't beat, "When the going gets tough, the tough get Oeming."

Oeming WOULD be an interesting choice. I'm on board.

whenever i see frank miller is involved in anything i pay attention, but i'll believe it when i see it. remember Holy terror? wasn't that solicited a while back and is now delayed indefinitely? add to that the fact that frank miller hasn't been exactly on the top of his game lately and i think i'll just stick to my Batman: Year One trade and think of better days...

Seriously, if Frank Miller wrote cereal box copy I'd read it. No, I'm not kidding.

I'd read Gilmore Girls fan fiction written by Frank Miller

those would be kick-ass box turners

i'd read a frank miller penned count chocula. i can see it now: the count would be hunting down the M&Ms, stalking them from the shadows and pouncing, tearing apart their limbs and bathing in a shower of their chocolate lifeblood...

of course, and the countess chocula would be a prostitute with one leg

because she sold it to buy crack of course

Not sure how I feel about this...Do we need another Batman story that doesn't live up to the hype?

fred

that was fast
5:45 minutes after first details are posted it's already overrated

DC hasn't even officially said it exists yet but it's been on every major comic book site and discussed in great detail all over the web. I'd say that counts as hype.

I love Frank Miller, Dark Knight Returns was what got me into comics, but there are definitely some things readers should steer clear from. Dark Knight Strikes Again is pretty much universally panned.

I like Miller, even if he has gone crazy, but it's a fun kind of crazy.

I'll give anything by Miller a try. Just recently read 300 and it was great. Now I've added Ronin to my list.

Other than Dark Knight Strikes Again, I'd hardly say his work has been bad. I wasn't a huge fan of Sin City, but it was all pretty good. I think I'm going to give DK2 another chance anyway, since it's filling up the second half of that book denting my floor.

FYI: DK2 #1 was my POW years ago. #2, not so much.

We need a new phrase for "jump the shark" because Miller has done whatever that would be. Ironically enough, he's making more money than ever!

How about "took the long drive to the Bat Cave" or "Jumped the shark-man?"

That's beautiful. I was going to go with, "kidnapped a kid and forced him to eat rats", e.g. "Britney Spears used to be hot but now she's kidnapped a kid and forced him to eat rats."
