I hope the weekend wasn't too rough on you!

The following exchange happened mere hours ago at John F. Kennedy International Airport:

Ron: I don't know what day it is.
Conor: Me either.

How many stops did you end up making on the (very fun sounding) Tiki Tour?

And how many Sandman trades should Ron have to read? One for every "awesome" should be sufficient. ; - )

Five!

And we only stopped because San Francisco is wimpy and the bars close at 2am.

Although, had we kept going we would have died.

The Tiki Gods were looking out for you then.

I was wondering about the Tiki Tour rules. How many drinks per bar to do the tour?

and what the hell kind of city is sf that their bars close at 2?

fred
03-05-2007, 03:03 PM
if it's 2 per, I could do it. I've done that far too many times before. I mean it's only 11 bars right?

Ron, in case you need a Cure soundtrack playing while you read Sandman, Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me is their best album.

Ron's Sandman soundtrack

The Cure - Disintegration
AFI - Love Like Winter
My Chemical Romance - Helena
Joy Division - Love will Tear us Apart

Well...That's all I know. You can just play the sound of someone crying the rest of the time.

I think it should be legal to kick anyone you see buying a Cure album

and I think I'm actually serious about that - scary

I don't get any response on that? wow

Here's the thing: If Ron could resurrect Ian Curtis, he would. And might marry him.

Also, I own no music from the Cure. None.

Ron? Not so much.

AWESOME show, guys. Still hard to get my head around the time-travel. Missed Josh this episode. Also interesting to have a show that tried to side-step the spoilers.

I'm with you on the spoilers especially when the POW is a book that I only pick up in trade. Of course if they did that with every book that someone might conceivably pickup in trade there would be no spoilers ever and the show would be really boring.

Also, have to agree, the chemistry was a bit off without Josh, as it is when any of the three are missing.

Hi guys,
I have been listening to iFanboy since August 2006. This podcast I have listened to. I enjoyed listening to reviews / previews of comics that typically are not covered: Los Bros. Hernandez's Love and Rockets, Charles Burns' Black Hole, and Robert Kirkman's Brit.
Consider having other guest presenters in upcoming podcasts - it brings a different perspective.
Cheers,
Marcus

Marcus,
here's a sneak peek at my current stack of books to read, I think you'll be pleased with some of the books I'll be ranting or raving about in months to come:

Interesting.. Let us know what you think of Ronin.. I saw it at the store last week but it was either that or Dark Knight Returns and Dark Knight Returns won... ;)

hey ron
2 things
1. HAAAAA Sandman
2. I scanned the photo and read the Action Philosophers as Action Pedophiles and literally did a double take. Huh? What? Oh

1 more thing. I'm starting to feel a bit overwhelmed by the stack of trades that I have that I'm reading or meaning to read. I was thinking about this earlier. It's:

SiP(I'm in the mid 40s)
Teen Titans - I have 5 trades and I'm in the middle of the second
Miller Daredevil Omnibus
Spider-man The Death of the Stacys
Rucka's Elektra 1 & 2
Essential Hulk Vol 1 - halfway done
there's a new GA trade coming out I think Wednesday
and there are a few more random books floating around the house needing to be read

also, I've been clearing my dvr
AND I got a DS Saturday night

****ing media overload

"New Xmen:Childhood's End", was actually a good arc. It's what got me to add this particular cast to my monthly reading, i like the unpredictability of it.

I've sometimes thought that maybe to curb my comic book spending that I would force myself to read all of my graphic novels again before I could buy another one. Then, I just look at the stack...and then say screw it.

im really interested in hearing some opinions on Robert Kirkman's Brit. i've heard great things about his earlier work and i respect the iFanboy opinion so be sure to keep us posted on what you think and whether its worth reading

I absolutely loved the story arc where the animal fables revolt. Goldilocks is great as the propaganda-spouting revolutionary.

Five Fists of Science and Action Philosophers are a lot fun. Been meaning to read Ronin. Never got around to it.

Oh man. Black Hole and Love & Rockets are so great. To read those for the first time once again. /envy

I just finished the fourth trade where the advesary sends multiple Pinnochios after them in Fabletown. It was great. Already looking to pickup #5.

I think I've enjoyed each trade of Fables more than the last. It's odd that way.

Pretty much. After the first trade, I wasn't even planning on continuing with the series. I only got the second trade on a whim when I had a really small comics month. The second trade was good enough for me to keep reading. By the end of the fourth trade, I was fully engaged and after the fifth trade, it had become one of my favorite books. Wacky.

Ditto. I like the concept, I think there are a lot of great stories that could (and I'm sure have) come from it....I just....it's one of those things. I always grab the first trade, and sometimes ever start reading it, but just put it back and grab something else.

I just need that extra push to buy it, I guess.

Totally. That and I've heard that it takes a few trades to really get hooked, so I think of it as having to invest even more to get up to speed. I'm too impatient, sigh.

The first trade is good, but each one after is better. It's worth it.
