School has Websense set up on their server or whatever so it filters out sites that have to do with "Message Boards or Clubs", "Hacking", "Free Software Download" and a variety of other things I do on a daily basis.

I heard that putting "https" making a secure connection bypasses Websense, but it always loads and loads then says "Connection to server timed out". The closest way to bypassing Websense I can think of is using LogMeIn to remote control my home computer to browse, but that is a bit slow. Luckily I can use the Rev3 website =D

Also, Websense blocks several proxy websites. Anyone have any good references/tips on bypassing Websense? Thanks in advance.

Hey, I may be able to help you...
Here is what I need though. Could you get me the type of computer they are running. what version, and is the network external or internal? Give me as much info as possible and I may be able to find you away around it.

Wow! You guys R 1337!

How does his shady response and low post count make me 1337? Should I be flattered?

How does his shady response and low post count make me 1337? Should I be flattered?I think it was said with a liberal dose of sarcasm.

Yea i had that on my school computers as well. The best way around it would be to use a proxy. Just change the proxy setting on your browser. Just use any anonymous proxy.

i know at my old school they had multiple internet connections, the normal one was behind the firewall but the one the tech guys used was unblocked. all i had to do was figure out the right default gateway and bam, unrestricted interent!

Nope, it didn't. I use proxies but I just wanna find a way to go around it without a proxy.

My school used websense my junior year, but switched to 8e6 my senior year. websense is fooled by simple proxies. go to https://proxy.org and go down the list until you find one that works. if you're unlucky enough to have 8e6, proxies still work, they're just harder to find. One thing that always works (but is painfully slow) is torpark, just put it on a usb flash drive with firefox and you're set. if your school's computers have 'restrictions' just rename the executables to iexplore.exe or notepad.exe. note that as far as i can tell, torpark won't run from a cd.

https always times out on me, and I doubt websense hasn't blocked http://proxy.org/

My school has this also, but i get around it relatively well by running Firefox off my thumb drive wit the switch proxy extension proxy installed and having a relatively long proxy list. My friends and I also hosted a proxy on our website for school school use with no reference to proxy in the either the page, source or the metatags. Tor might also work, but im not sure about that

the websense at my school has proxy avoidance marked to block out proxy sites any way around that?

This isn't a 100% way around, but when i was in highschool the teacher's accounts on the network always had less restrictions then we did. So we just got the teacher's passwords.

Another thing i could think of is try getting the machines administrator password. ya never know.

No i did not host a virus or anything just put it on your flash drive plug it into the school computer run it and it should pop up a lock in the bottom right corner of your computer and IE should pop up. It only works with IE and not FF :( But it truely works The speeds are the same as a regular internet connection it's not slow or anything. We have been using it for 2 years and it works great. It's an amazing too it's a single EXE also. Give it a go once you guys get a chance
