Diggnation is an awesome show, but I was wondering if the concept could be applied to something besides science and technology. Would the getting hammered while talking about finance news work? Just a thought. I want to see if people like this idea.

These guys are into science and technology....They have touched on other topics...but this is their thing.
I'm sure a show about finance or stocks with a couple drunk hosts would be cool for people into that sort of thing.
Grab some beer and do a podcast with an accountant buddy of yours.
I'm sure there is an audience for it.

I wasn't talking about Kevin and Alex doing it. The show is perfect the way it is. I have a degree in finance and was wondering if there were people interested in both technology and finance. I'm both tech and finance and I thought there might be other people like me as well, so I was just asking.

There should be a show about everything while the hosts have been drinking.
Alcohol puts a different spin on any subject.
Usually makes the truth come out according to the level of drunkeness.

Hm... I'd watch it. Maybe not a strictly Finance focus... like Business, Finance and Politics. That'd be pretty interesting and probably funny at the same time.
I'm sure there's an audience for it.

I personally wouldn't watch it, but the idea is intriguing when you replace 'finance' with something like 'art history.' The penis jokes would be abundant...

Just a suggestion, but this should probably be moved to he Pilot Shows area.

The question is not about a pilot; it relates to Diggnation as Diggnation is what caused me to have this idea.

I understand that, but it is technically an idea for a new show...it's not like we have any say in the matter at all, it's up to a mod. Though in my eyes it belongs there...but that's just me.

Just a suggestion, but this should probably be moved to he Pilot Shows area. Why? Its not a pilot show. If anything it should be moved to General Discusion, but since it is sortof about Diggnation it stays put.

But oh well, pay me no mind.

Finance is a bit more serious. Who would want to take financial input from a couple people getting drunk? Not many. I like talking finance, but wouldn't take anyone messing around seriously due to the nature of finance. And when I want to watch drinking, it's when I want to see something lighter. Really, I think it'd bomb.

Right they would get drunk and would be like, "Duuude, this money is like green."

I would watch a politics type diggnation.
Like a hannity and combs after a 12 pack.

Sounds like they were smoking the green. :)

I don't know, I'd rather not take stock advice from two drunks.

Except that Hannity and Combs are experts enough that they'd probably still get some of it right. :)
It's be tricky to do a finance show for another reason. If you say, "I recommend," and someone acts on it and loses money, that person can sue. If you were to say, "I suggest," and someone acts on it and loses money, that person CAN'T sue. A suggestion versus a recommendation. Ofter used interchangeably, legally not so. One drunken slip and they can be sues to the moon and back.

So in other words, finance is not a good topic when under the influence, but politics would be fine I suppose, I would watch it, seeing how I am now boycotting the local news that I usually watch at 10 because they ran that ****ing "DS is a child molestation tool" story.
But I shouldn't mention that *points to the pizza topic* that's what happened las time.

Whatcha gonna do, sue because the other guy won? :)
When it comes to money, anything that causes people to lose it must be evil, and so they'll sue whomever they can to get it back.
And all it takes is ONE dumbass to actually take drunken financial advice and loses money to decide to sue for all of Rev3 to go under.
