Okay, is it just me or does it completely tick you off that after the complete debacle that was "Civil War" that only took about a century to come out, Marvel has the nerve to have two more events and to put out these stupid lists of crossovers--meaning 'The initiative' and 'World War Hulk'. It's just insulting to think that yes, after all of this, Quesada thinks everyone is ready to jump on to another one of 'kiss your sister' fests.

I bet you more people than not jump onto them.
I won't be jumping, though.

What's the x-event?
And yes, your sister's a good kisser (oh no, he didn't!)

hey hey hey
the x-event is some thing that's suppossed to involve the whole x-universe but nothing has really been announced about it yet except that it will be a big deal and it will be confined to the x titles.

Is it me or is Marvel stepping back to the 90's in some ways? Big X-events that cross all of the x titles and variant covers. Just wondering.

I would comment about kissing your sister but thats been done already. I am going to kiss my money good bye. God Damn I still love marvel comics.

they're walking the line.
The Initiative is the logical extension of Civil War. And say what you want about the excution or story of CW proper, they are in a cool place now.
WWH looks awesome. There are too many titles. But, it is the logical ending for Planet Hulk - which has kicked ass.
The X-Event I'm not so optimistic about. I've heard Mike Carey is heavily involved.

Honestly kinda hyped for the X event,it has something to do with Mr. Sinister. I remember an interview with one of the X writers who said his quick return then disapearing act would be a lead-in to a major change in the X Universe. They also are rumored to be letting us in on what "really caused" the decimation of earths mutants.
My big question: Where does this place World War Hulk:Xmen? Is it gonna be non-continiuty like Civil War Xmen(cause that one didn't fit in there either)?
WWH: X-Men
that's a moneygrab from rubes
I'll be buying it too
I will admit to being a little miffed when I saw a list for The Initiative - I thought it was just going to be a mini-series, not a whole event, and right on the heels of CW, well, it seems a bit much. But, for me, it's more that I'm not that stoked for the idea of each state having a super-team - it just doesn't strike me as a great wellspring of cool stories. Maybe I'll be wrong. We'll see. I am looking forward to WWH, though, and will buy the mini - but otherwise for these two events, the stuff already on my pull list that ties in will be it for me.

Since my CBG dosen't want to hear me ***** and moan about missing something, i'll be a trooper for The Initiative. World War Hulk i'll pass.. The X-thing, I might be in for it...

The Initiative doesn't feel like an event to me any more than One Year Later did. They had their big Civil War brouhaha; any book that is hip deep in the continuity is going to be somewhat affected by what happened; they slap a little label on it and maybe boost some sales. My suspicion is that the sky is not falling, but that I'm going to hear about it as if it is. I got a whole story without the Civil War tie-ins; I'll get a whole story without the WWH tie-ins. Deep breaths.
WWH and the Initiative really are logical continuations of the pre-existing storylines too. It's not like they're doing some crazy thing just to do it.

Yeah The Initiative and WWH are just pretty much the same book its just a continuation of the stories just by sticking the labels on them, they tell u which storyline the book is focusing on. They're being helpful.

For all the people piss and moan about Civil War, they still bought the shit out of it. When you get right down to it, that's all they really care about it. Why should they change a winning strategy?

I've been waiting my whole life for a Hulk event and I think WWH is going to really deliver.
This is the first time in over 20 years of collecting comics that I will be buying EVERYTHING attached to an event. I'm stoked.

My friend has every Hulk appearance ever except for, like, the first four issues of his series back when it started in the 60's. And those are just a matter of time and money.
He absolutely abhors this event and I think it's going to push him over the edge towards quitting at least Marvel comics (except Hulk of course). Sometimes I really do feel for some poor bastards when it comes to their own completist habits. All he wants to do is buy a Hulk comic each month and leave it at that.

Sometimes I debate it. Usually because of "Alex Ross is the bestest!!" type threads at like, ****ing newsarama or whatever. Goddamn uberfanboys.....

Ok... I think that's why I don't really go to those websites unless there's a link here or at iFanboy (http://ifanboy.com)... I know it seems weird but I feel like sometimes those sites sometimes give false hopes. I do syndicate feed of blogs at newsarama but that's about it...

I just hope the Hulk ends the War with crushing Quesada and Tony Stark. It would be cool if Ultimate Hulk showed up and ate the two of them. And yes, I remember that he is not real, just all this crossover crap is pissing me off. When I came back to comics they weren't doing a bunch of this stuff and it was nice.
I love Disassembled when it happend, but since it seemed to have started all this, I look back and hate it.

I suspect that much like CW, I'll just buy the core books for WWH. Honestly, I just can't get all that psyched for the Initiative. Not burnout or anything, I'm just not all that interested.
I'm excited about an X event, but am afraid it will make me have to go buy New X-Men and Wolverine again which I have managed to kick to the curb successfully the past couple of months.
Then again, I don't have to buy anything. That of course is the key to any and all event things. Buy what interests you, leave the other stuff out. I've been doing that for years and have very rarely felt like I was missing out. If anything, I always felt hosed when I bought something that say, had a Secret Wars II "crossover" that had like 1 panel of the Beyonder in his leisure suit.
Sticking with the core stuff always works well for me, though I'm more wont to buy the peripheral stuff if it is at least in regular titles, not minis and one shots.

That's the thing. There was a time when you'd be a regular Iron Man reader, and one month you'd get your Iron Man and at the end it'd say, "Continued in the Hulk!" leaving you with a crumpled book in your hand going, "Goddammit, I don't read the Hulk! I've never read the Hulk!" Or worse still, you'd get your issue of the Hulk and find yourself in the middle of an Iron Man story from weeks ago. Those crossovers (the most recent one I can think of is "the Other") are thankfully few and far between these days. Compared to that, this tie-in stuff is like a jolly picnic with cool, refreshing lemonade.

im actually looking forward to a good old fashioned x-over, its been a while (i dont count house of m, that was a marvel u event). im not down for one every summer like back in the 90s but once in a while i dont mind getting exposed to new x-books (but thats just cause im a huge x-fan)
but is it really written by mike carey? that makes me sad.... anyone got anymore info on this?
as for WWH, not interested. i'll buy the main book if it keeps my attention but thats cause im a marvel zombie through and through, but im not too excited for it

I think the X event will rock and Chris Yost just did an interview (http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=104799) stating that my fav teams including the New Xmen will be involved. Hopefully they get the writers together and they truely join to make it work. I don't want some parts fitting and some parts not.
