I could totally do it.
I mean... my Blackberry and wifi on my Nintendo DS don't count, right?

I can't do it, either. I freakin' work with computers. I'd have to take a week off of work...not sure my boss would like that very much.

If I didn't have a job I could do it because I could use other means to pass time...but employed I can't esp since they even use computers..as crap as they are they are still computers.

Oops. I meant to say a day.
A week is the stuff of dark madness. I could totally do a day, the secret is to start drinking as soon as you get up and make sure you have a lot of console games around.
And the Blackberry. Must... have... Blackberry.

Whoa...had me worried for a minute! A day is possible as I have more than enough games to play, movies to watch, and music to listen too. The only other requirement would be nourishment...

I've tried turning mine off, but didn't work, i don't have enough of a life outside of it, i did get behind on stuff online when i was dating, but still was on it at work, so it wasn't bad, but yeah, work makes me cut down on it outside of work some...

I know it's bad for the environment and racks up huge bill (which is covered in my rent any way :)) but I haven't turned my laptop off outside of transporting it to and from class...

I honestly do not think I could turn my computer off for 24 hours, nor frankly, do I have any desire to try.
I am on my computer probably 16 or more hours a day. Sure I may be doing other things while "using" it, but, it's presence in a turned on and connected state are critical to my job, side projects and personal life.
When my computer is not on, it is in my bag, which is attached to my body at all times. I take it to bars, parties, friends' houses, dinner, whatever. (Don't worry, all critical or confidential information is stored on a memory key in my wallet in the event it is stolen... although if I'm mugged, I guess that doesn't help ;) ). This is why I am actually a fan of small, lightweight Thinkpads instead of large, heavy Macbooks, or other bigger computers with huge screens.
I also, usually, bring it with me on vacations. Although, last year when I spent a week hiking in Death Valley, I went without it for 10 days straight! I don't look at desiring to be connected constantly as a curse. I can still "escape" from it all and have a good time, and still head back to the hotel or camp or whatever and enjoy myself while getting some work done.
I'm not married. I have no kids. For now, I'm good. Who knows, in a few years things might change?

Actually, I DID go six weeks once. But I was comatose and dying, so that doesn't count. I've voluntarily gone up to a weekend, Friday to Sunday night, but that's it.

I'm gonna take part in the 24 hour thing but I don't think I could do a week. For the personal stuff, I could careless. I haven't updated my blog in weeks. It's a job I have on the side. I need to email and send files.

I could and have. When going camping or when power is out for some reason. It is easy just do what I would do sleep until the time is up.

Can't have Blackberry. It's still a 'net tie.
Then this is an impossible challenge for me.
I check RSS subscriptions in the middle of the night on my Blackberry, huddled in bed with my internets.

I could not use a computer for a week. Even though 2 of my classes usually involve computers, I could just do stuff on paper. It would be interesting doing it, but I'd wait until the snow is gone so I can go biking.

Being an Eagle Scout and a HUGE geek are contradicting in a lot of ways. I have gone 14+ days with out any form of electronics (minus a flash light). But those situations are different. I do think I am capable of a day with out my computer pretty easy under normal circumstances and could probably do a week as well. I love my computers don't get me wrong. And I am a graphic designer so my life is on computers 12+ hrs. a day (non-gaming). Now a real challenge would be to go without a phone for basic communications on a normal day. I could see that being problematic even for me.
