can anyone give me and idea on why windows xp pro would countinue to reboot when starting up. I recived a call from the gm of a hotel that my company owns she said she was trying to install word and mistakenly inserted the xp disk then instead of reading waht was on the screen just clicked next she said it was an upgrade disk now during the boot up it just reboots over and over. I work on the hispeed network for the rooms not realy a os or soft wear guy can anyone could give me an idea what to look for

Good chance this isn't the best solution, but its still what strikes me as the easiest solution: Reinstall the OS, since it sounds like the process has already been started, and it also sounds like some amount of damage has already been done..

Depends on what kind of important data is on the drive though.. you could pull it and throw it into another box to get the information, try the recovery console, pop in a knoppix CD, etc etc to get the data.. just depends on how much time you're willing and able to put into the problem.
