I know, given my experience most people dont like to post pics of themselves in their avys. I guess Myspace is getting to everyone. LOL

I don't believe I've ever saw so many people upload actual pictures of themselves for their avatars as I do on these forums. I decided to join the club. LOL

Not sure if I like it yet, maybe it will grow on me. I kind of miss my old Apple. :(

Man, I know what you mean. It felt awkward and brazen to do it, but over the last few weeks I came to the realization that it adds to the honesty of the community. We are trying to not hide behind little cartoons, symbols, or icons. I think if we put our faces out there we are less likely to be rude to each other. Less likely to lie. Less likely to hide who we are.

It can only be a good thing and I hope it spreads beyond these forums.

Maybe it's contributing to people feeling more like friends and real people. At the last Diggnation taping, a couple forums members found me by my av. :)

Honey, we can befriend each other, despite the distance. So what if we can't hang out in person? I've never even met my three best friends in person, yet have known each a substantial amount of time and we're always talking on the phone and there's nothing I feel I have to hide. Near or far, we ARE all friends. :)

Nothing wrong with online friends. Thats the only kind I have. I have met a few in person. I feel more comfortable online talking to people. I hate interacting in person.

I know exactly how you feel man. It's easier to post online and remain pseudo-anonymous than converse in person and have to actually lay it all out there.

Na, when I'm around people I trust and am comfortable with, then I'm pretty much the mirror image of my online persona, but around other people, or people I hate, I'm not.

Sound like me in high school. I was the enigmatic one who no one except my three best friends could read. And we conspired to wreak all sorts of undercurrent havoc among the highfallutin ones. (preps and jocks)

We insinuated ourselves amongst them, because we could pass in certain circles, and spread all sorts of sordid gossip and malfeasance...
