Well we need one so I'll start a thread here.
I'm begining to wonder if the humans aren't simply going to turn out to be cyclons and the reason why it all keeps happening over and over is because they're programmed to do it over and over again.

I am voting that BSG Comic related stuff goes in iFanboy, all other discussion goes in here ... not that we really know what TRS will really be like, but I am guessing here is good for SciFi discussion.
Jeff, Alex, Danny? Thoughts? Want to kick this subject elsewhere?
===
OK, my BSG post ...
I was away for 2 weeks, and my DVR wasn't recording BSG. My wife added something else to the record schedule, and it bumped BSG. That has been fixed now. Divorce papers have been filed (j/k).
Is Season 3 going out with a bang or a whimper?
So far I have caught up on the first two episodes of Law & Order:BSG and now need to wait for Sunday night. Will they present evidence from CSI:BSG, or will they find a group of others that know the way home, but aren't sharing? Not sure where it is heading.
This season (apart from Galactica jumping into the atmosphere on New Caprica - which goes down as one of the best episodes ever for that scene alone) has been pretty lame. That was hard to say, 'cos I do love the show. I know that it was picked up for a full 4th season ... and really hope that they can strengthen the plot, so it doesn't end up as BSG:Voyager.

Interesting. I thought TRS covers comics, no?It might well cover comics as well. I guess we need to wait and see, but I know iFanboy have had BSG comic discussion in there already, and they are a show dedicated to comics. I'd be inclined to discuss any general comic stuff over there (and they are rabid comic readers), and focus only on the comics discussed in TRS here, since I suspect that wil be only one aspect of the show.

http://www.myspace.com/totallyradshowI know that - but how much comic books will be covered is what I meant. TRS is pop culture. iFanboy is dedicated - stick your head in their forum, download their podcast, I think you'll really like that show.

I don't want to stick my head in there. Nothing against them, I am sure it's a fine show and has some great fans. Looks like an active forum. I just do not have time for another show and I don't want to post in a forum for fans of a show if I'm not watching it. :)
Anyways, I agree that this season hasn't been as good as it could have been. The New Caprica rescue was awesome, of course.. but we have spent the rest of the season dealing with the repercussions. It hasn't felt like we're moving forward.

and then they announce the end of the show. I feel like after they escaped from New Caprica the entire show has been in limbo while they tried to figure out how they get to earth and deal with the cylons... these are the eps we get while they figure that out. There have been some interesting plot lines, but all the infidelity and schizophrenia is just not interesting to me. Some of the Pegasus stuff was the best stuff they've done imho. They really pushed the envelope on the us vs. them even though they're the same as us.

I'm fine with them ending BSG... I'd like the story wrapped up appropriately as opposed to it languishing while they try to keep it going for the sake of it.
However, I want it to go out on a high note and we're not there. I agree about the infidelity and schizophrenia. Part of it works to prove a point about the pressures the survivors must be under... but hell, we get it by now. I think they need to progress the story if they are going to really wrap it up.

I don't know if anyone else listens to the Ronald Moore weekly podcasts where he gives commentary for each episode. The sense that I've gotten over the past season is that they wanted to go in one direction (focusing on Sagitarans and some massacre) and about half way through the season realized it wasn't working. So what we've been seeing is their attempt to recover, which isn't a really well planned out or thought out season and seems really disjointed. But tonights the season finale, right? So they'll probably pop us few surprises. Everyone in my office is obsessed with guessing "Who the Cylon is" and I refuse to choose (or even support the idea that someone is going to be a Cylon).

Having a known end date for the series means they can real gear up to a big finale.
I just hope that at that point they dont go all BSG:2010 on us, and if there IS a new series spin off it is the rumoured Cyclon Wars prequel series.

What makes you think the fifth is the president? She didn't hear the music. Wouldn't the fifth be Starbuck since she was recycled?I'd bet on Starbuck as well - except for the Caprica episodes where she was being experimented on. Nothing saying that the new Starbuck isn't a clone though ...
As for Roslyn, I don't think she is the 5th Cylon. She experienced the dream that Athena and 6 had about Hera, but I would put that down to the dose of cylon/human hybrid blood she received from Hera to cure her cancer.
I still think Gaeda is the best bet for the 5th cylon, if indeed they ARE cylons.

03-26-2007, 11:14 PM
Well, I was thinking, these five were all on-planet on new Caprica. Possibly they were replaced?
Also, if this whole exodus has been envisioned by the Cylons in their communion with God, maybe they determined that Starbuck had to be experimented on to continue to believe she was human. Like, also, maybe they all had to be on planet on New Caprica to agitate and get them back off planet and on the move.

what did we actually see when starbuck died... I think we saw her ship get crushed right? Is it not possible that the thing she flew in to is some kind of gateway?
...and what was with the Hendrix? That was lame. I mean I love Hendrix, bu tthat was evil.
*SPOILERS* (duh)
GAH. So, I'm watching BSG after just getting home from 300 and am therefore already a bit amped.
"There must be some kinda way outta here," goes the TV. "Said the joker to the thief," I go. And then chuckle. Then it turns out that really is the song.
(****ing hell, Hendrix is the fifth cylcon!)
The four kinda stunned me, despite them leading up to it in the last episode. I really like them (even Ty, a little) and I don't know if this is good or bad. (Although, I have a thing for the President's assistant, so if she's getting more screen time.. I am officially in favor of this plot twist.)
One of the interesting things is that Hera is no longer the only hybrid baby now. The Chief and Callie are raising one as well. (Assuming that the Chief really has been one all along and not just since New Caprica.)
Just as I was starting to slip away from being a rabid BSG fan, they reach out and grab me by the nuts and say they aren't letting go till 2008. Bastards.

Both of you are old enough to know that is a Bob Dylan song that Hendrix covered. It wasn't even the Hendrix version.

BSG continues to disappoint. Last night's episode continued the trend of this season's problem with all set up and very little pay off. There was no tension at all with the standoff between D'Anna and Lee. The revelations of the final five to the fleet was, well, anticlimatic. The only believable reaction was the overdramatic delivery by Bill Adama. I couldn't decide whether Roslin's blank stare to Tory was brilliance or simply retarded, I'm leaning towards the latter as that scene was just terrible. And the whole thing with the five knowing the way to Earth turning out to be a signal, incredibly lame (how was it triggered anyway). It felt as if they were rushing the entire episode (even though I appreciated the brisk pacing). What a stinker.
I on the other hand loved every minute of the episode and really don't want to wait 8 months for more.

Wow. Aside from the episode of season 3 where the Galactica jumps into the atmosphere, and the time lapse of season 2/3; I think that was the best episode of Galactica ever.
Aside from one question (5th Cylon), they basically answered every question we wanted to know, and in my opinion, in a badass way. The music, the way it was shot and edit, damn it really felt like an epic movie this time.
Can't wait what's in store for us with the last ten episodes. I mean where do they go from here? It's pretty exciting.
