Yes, you read right, Evil Dead is now a musical off Broadway. It takes Evil Dead 1 and 2 and turns it into one mega musical event.
I have tickets for tomorrow night, and I'm sitting in the "Splatter Zone". I couldn't be more excited, although every clip I see from it seems retarded and cheesy.

Also, in other news, High Fidelity is a musical. It's going through previews in Boston right now, but once it comes to Broadway I will be seeing that too. If they ruin one of my favorite movies of all time, so help me God...

I heard about this a few weeks ago and it is too cool. I mean a musical with a freaking SPLATTER ZONE!
And whats this about a High Fidelity musical? I'm not so sure thats a good idea. I can see how Evil Dead would be awesome with singing and dancing, but High Fidelity? Come on.

I hate my life. I need to see this asap. When you told me about this a few days ago I was jealous, but then I slept on it and realized that I'm not just jealous, I would switch bodies with you to see this...come to think of it.... ;)

My knee jerk reaction is that without bruce it won't be any where near as good. Then I ponder and think... hmmm... maybe it would just be funny by itself.

I saw this when it premiered in Toronto in 03. It was a great show and a lot of fun. I recommend anyone who can get to see it checks it out.

I know. A splatter zone. It's like Gallagher meets Sea World with broadway style songs intermixxed. Sounds (to use the overused phrase) epic!

Okay wow.....first of all, not a drop on me. Which pisses me off. But holy SH!T THIS WAS INCREDIBLE!!!!
I'm going again next week and I'm getting front row center so I will get covered in blood. It was hilarious, the lyrics were perfect (God damn you *****. You ****ing stabbed me is an example) and they had just the right amount of campiness.
Not only that, but the lead has Bruce Campbell down to a T!!!!! It was so much fun!!!

If you ever saw Silence! The Musical off Broadway... that's about what Evil Dead is. AKA retarded and cheesy BUT totally awesome, depending on your capacity to enjoy it in that moment.
High Fidelity has been a musical... Norbert Leo Butz is/was Rob. I liked it ok... the music wasn't all the memorable except that it was my Norbie *sigh*
