This is another computer restriction problem. Sounds silly? :)
I use a public access computer for the internet and want to save things like avi but can't because the right-click context menu on the mouse has been disabled. It's possible to save many other formats as a dialogue will pop up asking you to save if just left-clicked. Even Media Player (version 9) will let you save something if it's playing.
Avis when clicked on will automatically transfer to a temp location and then give an error at the end of the dl saying access to the file is not allowed.
There must be a way round this trivial thing, it's not that they've banned avis from being downloaded, I just there is no codec for avi in media player.
So, I'm on a machine running Win 2000, can't install any software/drivers, can't access the HD, just My Docs, DVD-ROM and USB device. The computer is pretty locked down.
How can I save formats like avi that don't bring up a save dialogue box?
