View Full Version : Beginning Theme Song for the TRS is totally snagged from "1UP Yours" Podcast!

Hey Guys,
Haven't had a chance to watch the full episode, but I did notice something right off the bat. That first theme song that they use in the Totally Rad Show is taken straight from the popular gaming podcast, 1UP Yours (http://www.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3149993).
I am not sure if the song was Creative Commons or something, but it is definitely the EXACT same song that 1UP Yours has been using for a long time.

Im almost 100% sure that it is from garageband. Which means its royalty free and explains why a lot of ziff davis podcasts and this one, its cheap.

Everythind said here is correct - it is a direct track from garageband and therefore free to use. But also, I am a huge fan of 1up Yours (mostly, just for Luke Smith) and that was a little shout-out to them. It is important to note that that song is NOT our "theme song" or anything, it was just used to transition into the first bit - this week only, no intention to use it again.

The other song is probably just another Garageband song but I know know know that they use it on other podcast. It's the song playing in the background during the narrator talking about 1982. Goddamn someone help me.

being fan of 1UP Yours here too. This week's episode will be great. While it's only Luke and John, they'll be talking about Xbox360 Elite, and GTA IV trailer.

Alright, cool. Thanks Jeff for the clarification. I just watched the entire show last night and really enjoyed it. How often do you guys expect to release a new episode?
Sorry for any confusion this post may have caused. I may have jumped the gun a little, not thinking that it could be royalty-free music. ;)

Yeah, agreed. I like 1up yours, also, but Luke Smith gets on my nerves a lot. Even though Shane can be quite a fanboy, it seems like Luke and Garnett get on a roll tag teaming him with remarks, until John steps in and moderates. I don't agree with a lot of the stuff Shane is posing, but don't like how they deminish his points down to nothing. Give him a chance...
And it seems like the only console that Luke and Garnett really ever want to talk about is the 360. I like the Xbox 360, too, but they need to diversify a bit. :)
That was my rant.

Yep, 1UP show rocks. I love both that and 1UP yours. I occasionally listen to EGM Live, but I really like the conversation that is brought up on 1UP Yours.
