Sure, lots of video games have a physics engine -- ho-hum look at gravity and inertia work their magic. None of them have what photoshop has: a brush engine. The brush engine was developed back in Photoshop 7 (before CS) and is what makes Photoshop a true painting program and revolutionized the way Photoshop works. In the longest episode of PixelPerfect yet, Bert explains and demonstrates the inner workings of the brush engine.

Awesome episode! I hope they get longer. I like the fact he mentioned the people who requested it. Maybe we should make a thread in which we can all agree on what to request. What do you guys think?

This is perhaps the best one yet. A great look at the brush engine!

This is more for the director than Bert. The over-the-shoulder shots are nice for atmosphere once a while, but they do mean that anyone subscribing to the podcast can't see any detail. This episode just got impossible, and I had to come to the website to download the large version so I could read the palette. The screen image is much more useful for learning. How about setting a limit of, say, 20 seconds per episode for over-the-shoulder angle shots and maximize the screen views? Or put the large version on iTunes?
