Hello, I was wondering if anyone else is having download problems. I have tried several different shows, several different times through the wknd and today. They all seem to just stop downloading at some point in the middle. I know nothing is wrong with my broadband connection. What's the deal, this is really bumming me out. Help?

Try and download two different versions of the same show at the same time. It didn't that to me in the past and the fixed it for me.

Which particular episodes and files are you having problems with? Also, are you using any download manager? If so, please try downloading without using a download manager.

Argh, still no luck, I tried downloading two of the Infected episodes at the same time as Popltree2 suggested. They both died out at about 190mb. I am not using any kind of download manager. I have tried downloading in Firefox and IE 7. Having the same problems in both browsers. I have also been trying to download the latest Diggnation episode. I don't know what the deal is, I haven't ever had this problem before? Sheesh I sign up as a donating member to Revision 3 and now I can't get any of the stuff!

Hey it would be nice to know my little donation is at least somewhat appreciated. I mean I'm not trying to be a ***** here, or anything but does anyone from R3 have a comment on why I can't freaking download a full Pcast anymore? I would really love some content since I support it. Thanks ..Any more help would be greatly appreciated.

Good sir, I do not think this is a problem on Rev3's end of things. And trust me, they appreciate your donations. As for your conundrum... I am not sure how to go about approaching it, the download manager tip Chuckles threw out worked for the last person... I've never heard of popltree's solution... this is tricky indeed... maybe I can solve your problem by scouring the computer internet.

Somebody from Rev 3 DID answer your question. Chuckles works for Rev 3, re-read his post for help.

I don't think that it is an issue with the file availability otherwise we would have a lot of users reporting this problem and we do test downloading the files when they are made available.

Do you have enough hard drive space available for the file(s)? Would you mind trying to download large files from other sites to see if it is an isolated issue on your end?

I'm having the exact same problem with the newest diggnation and totally rad show, I tried first with the xvid files, but none of the formats work. They all start and then stall out at various points.

Where are you geographically? Don't need the exact street address, state and country would be great.

Thanks.

Sorry to get back so late on this post. I appreciate all the help that was supplied. I haven't had a problem in the last two weeks. Every program seems to be downloading fine. Who knows what the deal was??? Thanks again for everyone's insight on this. Enjoy the podcast and the community.

I've had a similar experience like this before as well. Interesting thing was if I was downloading something at the maximum capacity Comcast allows on my connection, the bandwidth just literally died and I couldn't even access the internet OR my router without having having to re-boot and things went fine from there.

I figured it was an ethernet driver problem and I found out it was the case - under the driver properties there was a checked box allowing the device to "conserve power." The interesting thing was it only shut off when it was receiving the max amount of data...if you have 2 network connections, make sure that BOTH are unchecked - even if one is not even active, it will shut off the active one for some reason...and there was no way of knowing it was off until your internet died and you were forced to reboot...

here's the steps to make sure everything's right:

1. In the control panel open Network Connections
2. Right click on the local area connection and select Properties
3. Click "Configure..." on the General tab
4. Select the "Power Management" tab and make sure "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is UNCHECKED!!!
5. Save

Note: if you have more than 1 local area connection (like "Local Area Connection2" or something) make sure you repeat steps 2-5 for every connection you have (regardless of whether it's greyed out or not.)

Cachefly's servers are pretty rhobust and they usually give me the maximum capacity download. I pay for a 6Mbps connection, but since Comcast has recently performed a speed boost I can easily get around 1.3-2MB/s dl speed (http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b238/sr111/vrooooooom.jpg) either with cachefly or bittorrent.

Chuckles, you really need to say somewhere that you work for Rev3, or else the uninitiated will think they aren't getting help.
