This week: A review of The Lookout and an analysis of the trailer for Stardust, our impressions of the DS, PSP, and PC game Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, and the GTA IV teaser. Plus, is Nintendo right about the Wii? And the origin story of TRS revealed! It's The Totally Rad Show Episode 2: "Die-Curious" The one in which Alex's porridge is just right, Dan is tempted by the dark side, Jeff loves his mommy, and we all get Trapper Keepers.

HAhahahahhaaha! I LOVE that intro! That was ****ing hilarious!

Damn you guys, it's almost 9pm, and I have to be up by 5am tomorrow. Then, I see the show released, now I have to finish watching it before I hit the sack.

Anyway, HILARIOUS intro!

The price of being a part of the RADiverse. :)

So, what kind of HD cameras were used to shoot Crank? Because the action in that movie was great looking. Is it just because they did so damn much with it in post or what?

Claire Danes is amazing. I loved her in Shopgirl--thought she was the perfect Mirabelle.

Puzzle Quest gets better and better. Capturing foes, mounts, cities, and building your Citadel add even more to the game. I will say that, while I'm playing it on the DS, the PSP version is significantly better--even in the control department, which is odd. It's just too easy to make an error with the stylus i the DS version. Not to mention the PSP has vastly superior graphics and audio. Glad you guys are playing that game though, it's terrific.

I believe the HD cameras used in Cranks were Sonys (according to the directors when they were on geekscape), and Im sure they were super expensive plus they played alot with framerates and stuff so perhaps it was a lot in the methods and post. Im not sure though.

The intro was amazing guys, love the homage to the three amigos, I always liked that movie.

Ok this was a huge improvement from the first show. I liked the idea for the first show from the start. I had felt uncomfortable during that show like I had when Alex was on the other show, "Geekdrome"? Only reason I had watched that show was Alex's appearence. I was as uncomfortable with that show as I was the first Totally Rad Show. I will not point out why now as whomever produced, directed, edited or whatever the second show fixed the problem. The Second TRS made itself another reason that TV broadcasts is a thing of the past. This TRS was awsome. To any critics of the format. Did anyone else notice the "Flux copacitor" (sp) in the back drop? If not then shut up! This was a total turn around from anything I disliked from the first one. God bless them. The TRS is the next huge Net show. Enjoy.

I don't know exactly what cameras were used but they were definately going for a more raw video look, as opposed to the flicks using vipercam or genesis cameras hoping the audience doesn't realize the difference between their movie shot on video and other flicks shot on film.

I really liked Crank, loved the action in it and I think the "videoness" helped it for more immediate and exciting and served as a nice aesthetic counterpoint to the "hyper" reality of all the action. But I think that's a different kinda thing alltogether....

I paid to see that crap in theater... In any case, we can agree to disagree about TTA.

What can we agree about? TRS, that's what.

What can I say, episode 2 was actually "Totally Rad."

I'm moving TRS up to the top of my list of mid-week video-casts. My only question, what's gonna hit the recycle-bin now that I need time to watch TRS?

"Lab Rats" with Andy Walker looks like it's on the way out...

Guys, big improvement from the first show! You didn't seem to be talking over eachother much at all and I could follow your conversations much better.

LOL@THEOPENING, that was awesome. Also, that little bit with Jeff's mom was cool, you guys should do short little things like that more IMO.

The show felt more well-rounded to me and seeing as how it's only the second ep, that's awesome... er rad.

I still think you could fit more stuff in with the time, shorter reviews but more of them, IMO.

Keep it up!

No, it is actually a reference to one of the deleted scenes from Pulp Fiction. Evidently when Travolta goes over to pick up Uma for the "date" there was going to be a scene in which she picks up a camcorder and asks him a few either/or questions to determine his personality. Stuff like "Elvis or The Beatles". One of them is "Do you listen or do you wait to speak?". Unfortunately, I told Dan about this scene and then he used it against me in ep1. Curses!

Danny. Love you. I love you so much. I have to tell you, because, I love you. Get some SUN. Aren't you guys in Cali? Please take an afternoon. Just two hours a week. Take a book, a magazine, a laptop, or a bottle of pop outside. You really look sickly. Get a little sun. You're a good looking guy but you are looking really sickly and sweaty. Both Alex and the other dude look dry... but you look wet, white, and sickly. Get some sun and maybe use some powder to get rid of your sweaty look. Just a note because I love you and I want people to like you and not think you're a sweaty geek.

Ok, episode 2..pretty good. Things seem more comfy this week. I cannot express how much I love the opening! And the TRS theme song, love that too!

Mommy Jeff was a very fun and refreshing segment. She's way cool. It was so nice of Jeff to let her win, which is the most classic of excuses when a established gamer loses.

Alex and glasses? Um, does he need glasses or not? Reading or driving? Clearly answered? No. Perhaps that should remain a mystery until the final episode.

Everything else was money. The review of Puzzle Quest was so empassioned, I actually want to buy it and I almost shed a tear upon seeing the Trapper Keepers.

The only things that stood out as a con is the video game intro...I'm going to use the word hate, which I've taught my daughter to only use the word if she really means it because it's such a strong emotion. Yeah, I think I hate it. Danny doing the Daniel-san bird stance from Karate Kid makes me feel violent, but perhaps that's the desired response.

One other thing. Do we need to view trailers with you guys in the corner? I wanted to push you out of the way.

great job fellas. i enjoyed really enjoyed the 2nd episode. I like the fact that you review 2 movies and 2 games. I like hearing your reactions and comments, especially about the games... i am looking for a good psp game to play on the train ride, and i am going to follow up with the puzzle quest game..

another thing i liked, is you let each other finish thoughts, even after a slight interruption, ie: 'go ahead finish', thats good. yea, people interrupt each other alll the time, but since there are 3 of you, if it happens a lot, i can see it actually 'bothering/frustrating' me, since nobody likes to be cut off (right?), dunno.

keep up the good work, the show is indeed rad

This episode was rad. The intro had me cracking up. What was that, creamer? Now I actually have some incentive to go out and get Puzzle Quest since I wanted to play it before but wasn't too sure about the bejeweled type game. Agree, Puzzle Quest fits. DannyT - I violated one of my fundamental laws and skipped ahead in my podcast listening so that I could do an audio only TRS show. It actually worked pretty well. Obviously, there were some video only segments (like the beginning and the D&D section) that kind of lacked meaning, but they were short enough. It also worked well given my podcast listening strategy which is usually broken into 5, 10, or, at most, 20 minute segments: I never lost the trail of what you guys were discussing and I was able to carry through the whole thing. It sounded fine both in the headphones and over my car stereo. Good work!

Now honestly, I will probably go back and watch some of the video, and I may change some of my podcasting rules so that I, say, watch TRS while I'm on the bike at the gym, but the audio only worked pretty well.

I have to practice being no fun for when Emily is a teenager and I have to scowl at her dates.

My brother asked to borrow my shotgun and pistol when his girls get to dating age, he wants to have them laying on the coffee table, pretending to be cleaning them when the date shows up.

WEIRDEST THING HAPPENED! So on WarioWare for the Wii there are these pose cards you can unlock. So I was watching TRS I was playing WW. And as they were talking about The Lookout I unlocked a pose called... The Lookout. Now this wouldn't be as weird, if there weren't like 100 pose cards to unlock. Kinda crazy.

I can't stop watching the beginning of this episode. I laugh out loud every time. Most of my friends don't even know what a podcast is, but I've showed everyone of them that intro and they all loved it.

Also, I initially didn't like the theme song(?) in the beginning. But after listening to it a couple times and actually paying attention to the lyrics I'm hooked. Pretty creative.
