VIRB>all other myspace-esque sites. Not really, the more customization you give users = the more crap it can become. Facebook is a clean organized site, best of all those pedophiles can't register.

I thought the whole deal with facebook is that it is strictly for college kids, and/or proffesional? Don't you have to be affiliated with some such? If that is still true than pedos aren't fishing in the right pond.

They can add people as friends, join groups, and leave messages and such. That is all they need to do.

rabidbadger

Still, the kids and the pedos can join, then. Shame, sometimes I wish "exclusive" sites would remain exclusive...

Not for some arrogance reason, or wanting to keep out the "riff raff", just that I would like a few communities to be "communities", meaning : people with similar interests meeting, instead of opening to all for ad views...

xibalba

A site that makes you prove you are 18+ would be nice.

Some 18 and unders I can deal with like Magun but there are some that We could do without online.

Speaking of kids whatever happened to that 12yr old on here that was trying to get people to talk to him on Skype.

I told that kid that his parents might find it freaky for him to be talking to adults and that any adults who did talk to him could find themselves in trouble, even without doing anything wrong. I told him that even I was kind of uncomfortable talking to him, despite my sis being 16 (at the time), so I am used to talking to minors. Then I encouraged him to find some local teenagers into tech rather than looking online, but told him to definitely keep trying to learn. He hasn't been back since.

Seriously, if his parents don't want him talking to adults, especially voice-to-voice, and get mad that he is, whoever here he was talking to may find him/herself with some bogus charges filed. I believe that there is stating that in order to participate in boards like this, a minor must obtain parental consent if under 13. So he wasn't here legally anyway.
