What is this 360 Standalone Drive hack?

Im not sure if i fully understood what Kevin was talking about when he said there is a new standalone hack for the 360 Drive, before you needed a PC, is it different now?

Actually I am surprised more people didn't know about this...been around for a while..I almost bought one just for the hack.

Key word is Standalone, IE no other hardware, PCs or XB360's

The ironic part is that my friend said the same thing to me that kevin had claimed. He read somewhere about the same hack... yet when i asked him to find me the details he said he couldn't find it anymore. The i explained that the 360 does all the video processing he agreed the hack must of been fake because it couldn't be possible. How would the TV do the video decoding when the xbox 360 took 10 million lines of code to make the damn thing work?

I'm pretty sure it can't be done because it is just a drive and has no way of processing the video.
