Ive been a member of quite a few different message boards, and it never fails to amaze me.

People who take posting on the boards to the extreme.

There always seems to be the ones that sit on a new message board and wait for any chance to reply that they can.

I mean… I’m all for posting it up with relevant, irrelevant, fun, goofy, retarded, boring, long, short, and even off topic posts.

There always seems to be someone that is all over every board I guess trying to get their post count up.

Sometimes....it gets old.

I guess for the most part it doesn’t bother me….except when I need to use the search feature to find a specific topic or thread, or I am hoping to find at least some kind of relivant information within the topic.

I suppose the humor in it is what really got me to post this topic.

Just a quick glance at todays stats. The new forums have been up for about 5 days or so….

With our top poster at around 381 posts…. That’s 76.2 posts a day…. just funny. :D

Just a short look at the intense posting encouraged me to look further:::

i've noticed what you're talking about too. Some people must post in EVERY thread, some multiple times just to pad their post count. Not mentioning names tho...

It'll die down - hopefully. But I do agree, a lot of the stuff I see is fluff. Because way to describe it - fluff.

I do check this board 4/5 times a day. But I obviously don't post back all the time with my post count still on the 20 something mark. I just can't be bothered with all these "Post your Desktop/Vehicle/Pet/2nd Cousin Twice Removed" topics. But with time, these threads will have been done to death and have passed on.

Haha yeah i am quite amazed, by the number of posts and especially RANDOM ones that appear in the 'General Discussions' at a rather rapid rate. :eek:

It really all is in good fun. Im just posting this topic as a reminder to be mindful of this kinda thing.

Didnt mean to single you out, you were just a good example.

I know that forums will be full of useless information, but as members we could try (at least) to keep our posts as informative as possible as to not create page after page of garbage :D

Bman is posting like a mad man which is awesome...But the thing thats cool is his post per day since he hasnt been a member very long. Mine is like 1 decimal something and will never be accurate. :( Oh well, good for bman. Post away

Imo

a member who is avarage user (2-3 post a day) with a older join date, should get more respect than a user who has 1000+ post count but has only been a member for a week

That would be nice except the old forum never counted our posts so I mean...Others like myself have tons of posts compared to what is shown but it was all on the old forums. Shame.

It's a new forum, and it's still novel. It will level off at some point. Of course there will still be those who tend to post a lot, but as long as it's not flamatory or spam, I see no problem with it.
