Remember, Rev3 was advertising for new employees via digg a few weeks ago. Maybe he/she is one of the new hires?

Also, even if chuckles decides to disclose his/her gender to us in the future I think we should eternally refer to him/her as he /she just to pizz him/her off for all eternity...

I finally had time to watch last weeks "diggnation" yesterday. I'm running at least five days behind on most the podcasts I watch. The normal prerelease access is absolutely not an inducement. However, this exclusive content is a great idea.

the whole experience of being at diggnation live was great, I didn't expect that there would be that many people there. Kevin and Alex are like rockstars, just a gang of people around them after the show, I met Jeff, from The Totally Rad Show, who recognize me on the forums, i which was cool, hopefully there will be another live diggnation in LA..

DUDE! I totally agree! Finally someone who isn't a fanboy and isn't afraid to speak up. The tech is starting to disappear and so is my interests because of it. It's called Revision3 but it's starting to look like we need a Revision4. Geeze! Thanks for not being afraid to speak up!

Since when was Diggnation ever supposed to be a tech show?

It's a show where they go over the top stories/ones that interest them on Digg, I don't see tech anywhere in the show description.

Originally Digg.com was a TECH News Website, then it added news, then things started to go on from there. It's true, Diggnation may not have been "Tech centered" but Revision3 was supposed to be but it is quickly starting to lose it's tech appeal. Their shows are starting to look just like G4's. YEAH, I SAID IT.

Thanks for constructive criticism on Diggnation (and Revision3 for that matter). Our roots are in tech, and there will be a lot more of it coming, I promise. In fact, it'll be starting with the revival of Systm ... I'll be the first to tell you right here and right now that Systm will be making a return with a regular (and yes, consistent) schedule as a twice a month show beginning next month. Stay tuned for more details on that.

So, the average Diggnation episode is usually Kevin and Alex getting together well before the show to go over the top dugg stories. They select about 7 total stories that they think would be fun to discuss and include them in the show. Everything else (emails, drinks, sponsors, photos, etc etc) is additional fodder on top of it. Some shows have more tech related stories, some fewer ... some shows end up pushing the limits of an "R" rating and some less.

What is your ideal Diggnation? I/we would love to hear it.

I know you are a busy lot of folks, and I certainly don't expect Kevin to post alot, what with him running a company or two, but it is really nice to see the hosts and back-end folks post here once in a while. But they rarely stick around for a full conversation. And sometimes it's just PR. Hit and Run...

And when you gonna do your own show? I have/seen heard you on twit, etc... You can hold your own and you are definitely easy on the eyes. ;) You should think about doing a "business of new media" podcast or something...

Diggnation is great the way it is. There are already more than enough "clean" tech shows out there. I turn to my weekly fix of Diggnation to get not onlyTech, but a great laugh as well. If you are not into "Good Times" like Diggnation, or which to lisen to cleaner podcasting network check out TWiT.TV (http://www.twit.tv). Leo Laporte and gang provide great tech news minus the drinking. Revision3 and TWiT are by far myfavorite pod/vid casting networks.

Go somewhere else? This is a perfect example. Revision3 means the THE THIRD REVISION OF TECHTV. Does no one else remember that!? Yeah, Diggnation is great but it shouldn't be the sole concern of the entire site even though it is the show that attracted many of it's members. Like I said, if the site is gonna be called Revision3 then why not live up to that claim eh?

Actually, that is incorrect. I'm not sure if it's my place to state this, so Jay or David or anyone else, feel free to shut me up or expand upon this, but the name revision3 refers to television altogether.

Revision 0 was, of course, television, as it was developed in the fifties on through into the early 80s. Broadcast television with it's limited choices available to any and all over the airwaves.

Revision 1 was cable television, adding general interest channels and catering to the lowest common denominator. Some niche channels began to emerge, but overall the goal was still to hit the largest possible demographics. TechTV would fall into this category.

Revision 2 was PC based internet video with indie films, no business model, no loyalty and no audience. Distribution models were severely hindered by a lack of money and technology, and only a very small subset of geek tended to watch this content.

Revision 3 aims to change all of that with the convergence of TV and the internet. iPods, Tivo, mobile and broadband enable massive, loyal audiences to shift to on-demand, niche content available via the internet. By not only providing a distribution method, but also producing it's own new content, Rev3 is on the leading edge of the emerging (some may say emerged) industry.

Nowhere in there does it mention tech or TechTV.

This is not to say you don't have a valid opinion! There is no doubt that Rev3 started out highly tech oriented. But there is so much more to iptv than just tech. Ideally, in the very near future, there will be iptv choices for EVERYONE. All of us techies, of course, but also our mothers and fathers, or even our friends who can't even program a vcr.

To demand Rev3 limit itself would be doing these guys an injustice. The tech content will come, but at the same time, don't feel jilted if some other great content comes along with it.

The name Revision3 originates from the fact that there was once a channel on television called ZDTV. The first revision to this channel was the name change to TechTV. The content grew, some old faces left, and some new ones surfaced. In early 2004, Comcast announced its decision to purchase TechTV. In May 2004, Comcast announced that they would be merging it with its own gamer focused channel, G4. By February of 2005, the name TechTV was dropped altogether from the merged network, G4techTV. Kevin Rose left G4 to create his own revision of the channel, which now lives in IPTV form, Revision3.

That would be AMAZING! Leo is great and all, but systm is by far the best tech show on internet TV or even regular TV. They talk about open source, Linux, and really teach you something, it is all great.

For me, it would be one where they talk about tech related issues/news with no beer. The beer just degrades the show and the image of the host. Having the beer is really not a good idea at all as putting the drinking on the show haves caused some people to not like and not watch the show. No one watches the show because they drink, so taking away the drinking will not do any harm at all.
