Nice column man short but sweet,:) usually these things go on and on and on until it does your head in but you were direct and to the point very good.

I like the bit on Arkham Asylum, I saw it in the shop the other day and was debating getting it the art looks fantastic in it and you can't go wrong with Grant Morrison (except for seven soldiers, I just didn't get it? ) as for 24 it never got old for me but that's just me I guess. I have the most nonhomosexual man crush on Kiefer Sutherland he so cool:D ! keep it up.

I absolutely loved Company Of Heroes. So many little details elevated it above previous RTS games. SupCom and C&C3 were huge steps backwards. Can't wait for Relic's new Warhammer RTS. Dawn Of War + Expansions were incredible.

24 hasn't grabbed my interests this year. The CTU/Schroeder bits are bringing me down.

Thats the thing about 24 this year is there's not enough Jack Bauer time. It’s all about what the president will do, the leads in CTU and Jack is barely in it. He's main character in the show and he's getting very little screen time or anything important to say or do it's very disconcerting.

However whenever he is on he is killing people, which is fun because I have a drinking game with my friend that whenever Jack Bauer shoots somebody we gotta take a shot of Jack Daniels, some episodes we get really smashed I think he's killed something like 20 people his year so far good times :D

Well, now that you mention it- there was distinct lack of Jack during the time Prez Palmer lost his mind and decided to act like a maniac. Hmm, yes this year's 24 hasn't been up to par since they blew up half of Santa Monica.

Thank you all for your nice words, the column is usually a bit longer, but I had two performances of my highschool play this week and had little time to write. I put it up every saturday and it's more or less whatever strikes my fancy that week.

It's partly due to being easy topics people can relate to. And partly to being safe topics to write about.

Everyone likes kicking around the latest Lost episode, secure that ultimately it won't mean much. Whereas one runs the risk of setting off a more heated debate when offering opinions on politics, social issues and such.

I suppose most folks would rather leave that sort of thing to op-ed columnists than drag their own tiny blog into things. Excepting for the more politically minded bloggers, that is.

Exactly, plus. I just like writing about this kind of stuff and my politics are a bit controversial in the geek world.

But here's a column I wrote after the '06 Election:

I am a Neo/Christian-conservative, one for whom the results of yesterday's election are disastrous on a level that hasn't been seen since, well, never- it has been seen, but not since I have been able to recollect (my political awakening occurred in 2000 as I turned 10) and so I feel as if it such a turnaround is completely alien to this nation-.
In hindsight, we should have seen it coming and, as evidenced by the fatalistic policy of merely "holding on to seats" that was adopted by Republican campaigners going into the final stretch of the election cycle, many of us did. Political power has constantly been on a pendulum, one that has become even more varied as the 20th century closed. The Republican Party has been extraordinarily fortunate in holding on to most of the nation's power for six years, the time for a reversal was at hand, the only question was whether that change was to occur in '06, or '08.
So where do we go from here? The best answer: nowhere, the United States government is split, and as per the norm, a divide between the Executive and Legislative branches will all but cripple the law making process, just as Clinton vetoed a record setting number of bills put forth by his Republican congress, so too, I fear, will President Bush be forced to shoot down many prospective laws that a (most likely) Pelosi-led Congress will put forth. Such is the lot we have chosen, for all of its blessings, a government contingent on checks and balances holds its share of curses, some of whom the American populous is soon sure to see in a very stark light.
Looking to the positive, one interesting and fortunate occurance that has (apparently)resulted from the Republican's loss is that, earlier today, Donald Rumsfeld was fired, I know such a statement may sound alien coming from the mouth of a staunch Republican such as me, but it's true. Rumfeld's job "security" and subsequent mismanagement of the Iraqi conflict has been one of the (and I would contend, only) most appallingly inept decision that President Bush has made in his six years at the nation's helm. Will nominee Robert Gates (I would have chooses former CENTCOM Commander Thomas Franks) turn over a new leaf? Only time will tell, but at least he is a change, and right now, I guess that's what the nation is asking for.

Well, even if people disagree with another's politics, I believe we are better off having so many outlets for debate. Rather one feels the need to use their blog for such a thing, is their own choice. I resepct that decision.

did you read the complete script in the back of Arkham Asylum, Six Gun? Some interesting stuff there.

Yeah, the stuff about how Miorrison was inspired by a whack doctor who wrote about crazies in Gotham England was quite cool.

How does one read previous blog entries on that site? I'm far too tipsy to figure it out at the moment.

Great job! I like the variety of subjects you hit upon. You should join the 24 thread if you end up watching live
