Apple will hold a special event at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) trade show on Sunday, April 15. While no details were available on what, if anything, will be announced at the event, Apple has used such events in the past to launch significant product releases.
In 2005, the company used an event at NAB to launch Final Cut Studio and Soundtrack Pro. A similar event was used to launch Motion in Las Vegas.
Apple will also have a large booth at the show. Typically the first booth in the South Hall, Apple has moved the booth this year to accommodate the larger size.
Hopefully this is going to be good.

Jesus that's tomorrow, I'm so excited.
Hopefully it's Leopard, what else could it be?
I doubt they'd be releasing new versions of Macs right before a new version of OS X comes out.

Unfortunatly Leopard is not coming til october. Verifiable on apples hot news pages. :bummer:
It's most probably some awesome but expensive high-end vid/sound software... That most of us don't need but will go over big at NAB.
Still, iLife and iWork haven't been updated yet this year, and they are media centric, so that might be it. (especially with Leopard Delay, they need some new consumer software out there)

Could be an update to the laptop lines...
It seems their consumer products are reaching the end of their life cycles but with the professional nature of NAB I think it could be a new "pro on the go" update to the MBP.

Oh and there have been rumors of a new iMac design too. Just seems like a weird place to announce hardware.

My guess is the announcement of the Santa Rosa platform for the Macbook Pros. It is going to be released in May and it looks like an announcement now would be good timing.

It's today, and hopefully Black iMacs and announcement of new Laptops, and 3rd party support for iPhones, and finally Leopard details and maybe a new theme for them.
I'm so excited.

Well that's that, then...

Pretty cool, and exactly as I predicted... High end vid/sound stuff, plus a vid server thrown in for good measure...

Yeah thats cool, wouldn't expect anything to do with leopard to be announced at a broadcasters convention. I really looking forward to seeing what can be done in the new final cut studio though.

Looks cool, I'd have no use for it now or ever.

I would. If I could do what I wanna do. (vid edit) but it's so expensive to start and a hard biz to break into if you aint in NYC or Cali...

The video editing industry doesn't really appeal to me, I'm probably going to end up in the IT business.

It's what I want to do, but you don't really need to be anywhere specific now, and its only going to get better for people in smaller places the way that video online is going. I am buying a panasonic dvx100a off of ebay soon.

Wikipedia Link (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panasonic_DVX100)
They use the 100B on the mythbusters. It's a nice camera with a film like mode (24p) that looks really nice. I am looking used on ebay. Right now I'm winning a bid.

So does this new update to Final Cut Pro mean that there will be an update to Final Cut Express? Because I plan on buying that soon and I don't want to if they are going to update it soon, unless the new version won't run well on my macbook.
