many years ago, i set-up my titanium powerbook with an external flatscreen and used a regular tv as a playback 'monitor' (via a vhs deck). now i am trying to do the same thing with my new macbook pro 17", so i can edit in HD 1080p on an external screen, then review natively at HD 1080p on an HDTV (via an HDMI cable). rather than emulate HD over the same 23" apple LCD screen (over DVI), i'd prefer to see things in their destination environment.
so, acknowledging that the macbook pro can only run two screens at a time, i accept that i will have to leave the laptop screen off - but how would i do it today? the ideal, would be to continue to use the DVI-out to run my existing apple 23" display, then add the HDTV via an ExpressCard, leaving the MacBook Pro screen off.
any suggestions?
