Question of the Day
What do you wear in the morning? House shoes, socks, or bare feet?
Bonus Question
What did you eat for breakfast?
As for me, I ate a bowl of oatmeal with a glass of milk while wearing both socks and slippers.
I'm a bare feet guy
For breakfast I will have fetuses and gristle on a carbohydrate floater with a hash brown - aka the McDonalds Bacon Egg & Cheese Bagel Meal

Bare feet. I have a pair of moccasins, but they're mostly for show.
Can't sleep with socks on either. At least not in the normal places. Doesn't matter how cold it is.
This morning I had two blueberry Eggo waffles. Dry. I either do that or cereal. The cereal is usually Special K Red Berry w/ no milk or Lucky Charms (also no milk). And I almost always have this (http://www.tropicana.com/TRP_ProductInformation/Detail.cfm?ProductID=57) version of Tropicana orange juice.

Doesn't agree with me. Sometimes I'll have yogurt or something.
I tried that chocolate soy milk recently and really enjoyed it. But I read conflicting reports on how healthy or not healthy soy milk is. If anybody can drop some knowledge on me, I'd be most grateful.
Trying to get back in shape. I could stand to lose 15 to 20 pounds. I think it's mostly stress. I want to start running when the weather gets better. Tried in the winter, only to collapse into the gutters with lungs filled with cold air.
my kids were lactose intolerant when they were infants - they grew out of it by 18 months or so

Although a drive through breakfast really hits the spot every now and then.

I have a sweet spot for McDonald's breakfast and its greasy goodness.
My coworkers ere saying the other day that a bagel has more calories (or carbs?) than a krispy kreme. That seemed kind of odd.

Dry cereal eaters unite!
I don't drink coffee though. I don't get it.
My indulgence breakfast of choice is the McDonald's hash brown. I miss the brown cardstock packet they used to come in. The paper ones always get attached to the food.

Coffee was an acquired taste. And I have to dress it up so it doesn't taste like coffee (sugar & creme). That does seem kind of weird.

This is as good a place as any to mention that I avoid caffeine where possible. Probably why I have the constitution of a three-toed sloth on an August afternoon.
It's in chocolate though. I eat that.
I'm not into coffee unless it's like frappacino or a coffee coolatta - neither of which are really coffee

All my friends are caffeine junkies too.
A while back I had half a can of Vanilla Pepsi or something like that, and I spent the next couple of hours shivering in the corner because my body didn't know what to do with all the caffeine. I'm not even joking. I was shaking like nothing else. I thought I was gonna die.

I'm a recent coffee convert...
For those of you who don't like coffee but want a good caff. kick, try chinese gunpowder tea. Shouldn't be too hard to find if you have access to a chinese grocery store. The tea is super cheap too. For $2 you get a box that will last quite a while.

Well there are two keys to the process:
1. Use shredded cheese which melts faster.
2. Use two round pans. One you use for cooking, and the other you use to press down on the bread, which flattens and browns it more evenly.
If you like them crisper and thicker you can always bake them in the oven.

I loved/hated being unemployed. It was great walking around my apartment in a bathrobe and footies all day. The lack of money, not so great.
On the other hand I love to cook. My grandmother, mother and two aunts were/are professional chefs. I even considered taking up the vocation. Working in a professional kitchen is so damn physically/mentally draining though. Still, sometimes I wonder if I made the right career decision. Ce es la vie.

I loved/hated being unemployed. It was great walking around my apartment in a bathrobe and footies all day. The lack of money, not so great.
Exactly. I'm still trying to figure out how I can pare down my stack of 15 tonight to oh... around 3.

Just got back from a long lunch. Tragically, they were out of the oyster po'boy sandwich. So I had to settle for a Jamaican jerk burger instead. It wasn't nearly as good as the oyster po'boy would have been.
As for my books, I ended up with a total of 23 for the week, setting me back $65. Fred, I want you to know that I picked up Cable & Deadpool on your recommendation. It better be good! :D

Thanks MastaP and Labor_Days. I like Cassaday's work, but I have a personal aversion to westerns, purely my own damage. Growing up, liking westerns was right up there with all the other mainstream stuff one was "supposed" to like and glutted TV, I got turned off. I like my pulp characters in 30's and 40's settings, l'm in love with Art Deco, popular design and culture of the time, and I love old, old cars. I cracked open Batman: Dark Victory to flip through (no time to read it yet) and had a fangasm at the picture of the Joker in a big hat and trenchcoat riding the running board of an old car shooting a tommy gun. That's my thing. Love the mask, prefer the fedora to the cowboy hat, just personal preference.
Here is a little known fact, maybe: The guy who created the Lone Ranger created the Green Hornet. He even made one the descendent of the other, Britt Reed/Green Hornet's money coming from the Lone Ranger's silver mine.
When they do the Green Hornet again and get it right, I'm all over it. The CW thing is funny -- The Green Hornet and the Lone Ranger never gave a hoot about the government or their public reputation. In fact, the Green Hornet traded on his public reputation as a criminal and used it to his advantage in the old radio show. Vigilante possibly running afoul of the law (anybody remember Spider-Man?) was just a given and standard grist for the mill, and made for interesting stories. The Shadow also.
What did the public think of it? Didn't care, Batman survives as the perhaps the last character that embodies this. Winter Soldier is all about this too. CW, registration, who gives a hoot? Just get in and get it done.
OK, I'm going to bed now, just after I hear Edith and Archie Bunker sing "Those were the days..."
