I just started a pull list with my LCS, so now I have the oppertunity to order what they don't normally carry.
I know what I want out of Marvel, DC, Vertigo and Image, but do you guys have any suggestions on books I should pick up that I previously didn't have access to?
I'm thinking along the lines of indie publishers that I can support, like Ape Entertainment, Oni, Dark Horse (already have BPRD and Hellboy)...
THanks

Look into Kirkman's Image stuff.
not only Kirkman's Image but also Strange Girl from Image

Yeah that one too. Forgot about that one.
Since you like Hellboy, maybe try Fall of Cthulhu from BOOM! Studios.
From Oni, check out The Damned or Borrowed Time.

Definitely look more into Vertigo and Image, but also check out Wasteland and Local from Oni, PAD's Fallen Angel and Ben Templesmith's Wormwood: Gentleman Corpse at IDW. Warren Ellis also has a ton of good looking projects coming out through Avatar later this summer. Keep an eye out for Doktor Sleepless

The Goon:D
The Goon is going bimonthly again soon and it's extremely good read. It's the kind of book that you forget about and when it comes up you say “oh awesome! This is out this week that's great!” Also there's a the big Chinatown graphic novel coming out soon that should be a good jumping on point, hell any issue of The Goon is a good jumping on point it's freaking awesome!

There's BLACK SUMMER which is an 8 issue superhero in the vein of THE AUTHORITY coming out in August, with a preview issue in June I think. And DOKTOR SLEEPLESS like I mentioned before, which, hell, I don't even know what it's going to be about except the random crazy ass excerps Ellis puts on his webpage and livejournal.

i got a question for you guys:
Im looking to start collecting another Vertigo title in trade form, i find they seem to be a big commitment so i usually only read one at a time. im having a hard time picking between transmetropolitan, the invisibles or the losers.
i'll probably end up reading all of these series, but which one do you think i should pick up right now?
I've read Transmet - it's really great

i think im going to read my copy of the filth and then after that decide whether i should take a break on morrison or not. the losers i hear is really action packed while i think transmet is a deeper, but all three are suppose to be great series

If you want Morrison do Invisibles.. because The Filth is a mindf*ck... a bit more intense than Invisibles.. Least for me.. I read the first two trades of The Losers and love it..

I enjoyed Transmet the most, but the losers is still awsome and is less of a commitment, so theres that to consider

Transmet actually I hold in so high a regard that it goes in my top five "must reads" in my collection. I give it a reread annually I love it so much. It admittedly has a pretty weak third act, but the first two thirds are so good, that they on their own would arguably be the best comic I've read. Alas, it's not to be.
