I finally saw the live episode on the way home today. I've got to say that I am disappointed in the reactions to those girls, not only be Kevin and Alex, but by the guys in the audience. You guys wanna know why you don't have girlfriends unless you're really hot? Because of reactions like that. Know why the rate of eating disorders is so high? Because of reactions like that.
I know more girls who shove their fingers down their throats after eating a piece of bread than girls satisfied with how they look. This isn't fun. I've got friends asking me where to get ephedra because they "need" to lose weight like I have (200 pounds and counting) to look acceptable, considering things even stronger (such as meth). And some of these are very tiny girls! The only two girls I know satisfied with their bodies are 5'1" and 90 pounds, and 5'8" and 115 pounds, both considered very underweight by their BMIs, too underweight to model in Spain.
So. Dudes. Up the drinking and swearing, whatever. But please, PLEASE don't make it seem like the smaller the girl, the better. And, if you think that, don't go off on saying it repeatedly. Attitudes like that make girls like me (re: ones who aren't 5'2" and 90 pounds) want to stay home and avoid people out of embarrassment and the belief that everyone who sees me is having the opposite thought. "Oh, ew, look at that ugly fat-ass, get her out of here!"

Well granted, Kevin looked like he had about eight beers before and during the show.

Agreeeed. Basically, I thought the way they treated them was demeaning and disgusting.
It was a good show though, but seriously guys.
You want girl friends? Don't treat girls like meat.

What to say about this topic...or where to begin. I'm not from California, I moved here a year ago in June. I'm originally from Jersey and have spent a year in Hawaii. I have to say that the girls (that I've noticed) in California are more exposed to the attitude of vanity. In Jersey it wasn't really a big deal and girls would be themselves. In Hawaii the girls I knew weren't work out freaks or people who watch their diet. But at the same time in Hawaii, myself included, we just lived a more active lifestyle. Here in Cali we seem to be more exposed to a 'how to live your life' lifestyle, that personally I can't stand.
Bottom line is, stop worrying about what other people say or feel about how you should live. Live your life as you see fit. Don't let vanity ruin your life trying to be something your not or don't really want to be. Just be yourself.

So when my boyfriend has a few drinks or some weed, he must this I'm hideous when he's sober? I fail to get your point here.

Shit like that makes me want to go down a few more ephedra and cut down even more on my daily intake (right now about 300 calories per day). That attitude is a problem.

Yup. If a girl disses a guy for being chubby or having a little bit too little hair or whatever, she's a cold-hearted bitch or something. But when a guy does it, it's okay? If a group of girls stands around rating guys on physical appearances only and acts like that, it's disgusting and they're the reason women should be reduced to slaves without voices. But if a guy does it, it's just guys having fun or something.
I'm not even sure if I want to go to the party tomorrow night anymore. Sorry.

Aria, you're a gorgeous girl. You're so interesting and you have the boys around here running at your heels. You shouldn't feel the need to do any of that to yourself, despite what any one says.

You're from Modesto, right? My home ground. Out in that area and going out toward Winton/Atwater/Merced, not as many people are online. It's an area where people tend to have less money. That's just how it is. I can't help but wonder if the push for girls to look like porn starts isn't stemming from an easy availability of free porn on the internet that people in techie areas have an easy time accessing.

if a comic picture of an animated fat man in a ironic tee shirt makes you want to do that, then your problems are with yourself. stop blaming society for your problems

Over the tubes, I've got more confidence than I do in person because I'm photogenic and know that the chances are slim that anyone here will ever see me in person. In person, I am painfully shy and nearly hyperventilated one night when I was going to meet TWO people I didn't know in a group of six. Nick had to console me for a while before we went in to the theater to see 300. Know why my confidence is low? Fear of what others will think. Fear of rejection based on that. Because the packaging is too damned flawed.
But this isn't about me. It's about girls in general.

I am confused. Are you upset at the hooting and hollering at the French maids? Because, I gotta tell ya, when I was there I expected more wolf calls than there were. It seemed really toned down and maybe I am just carrying that over as I watched the video. But I am pretty sure than anyone at the taping will vouch for me.

This thread just.....argh. Thats all I have to say. Argh. Well no I do have more to say.
I like my girls the way I like them. If I like them small, thats my deal. Also it seems you're yelling more at Kevin because he thought the small one was cute. I'm not sure where you get off criticizing other peoples likes and dislikes. Are you mad that you might not be Kevin's type? I'm insanely confused about this thread. Your post ends on a note about you. Maybe you have problems with yourself? I don't think you're unattractive but I do think you have some "what everyone else thinks" issues.
Secondly, girls don't get eating disorders because we like our girls to be smaller. Now I'm definitely not in the best shape and I acknowledge that but its not wrong to like girls who are fit or have a smaller body. Girls get eating disorders because they let their emotions take them away and think that all guys want that. I'm not sure what it is about women but they sure don't seem to be able to see through the emotional fog that clouds their vision sometimes. I know that all girls aren't shallow enough to only want guys with 18 packs, an amazingly perfect jawline, sparkling teeth, tan skin, and dark hair and wears tag body spray. Don't try to blame eating disorders on us.
Also how did this thread change over to talking about Aria? I've tried to keep my mouth shut about this but it seems this whole damn forum follows her by the heels and jumps when she says jump and its really pissing me off. Girls are on the internet. Check out SomethingAwful.
I know a lot of people are going to get mad but its the way I feel. Dammit. That felt good.
(theres probably some repetition and stupid things in this post but I was in rant-mode so it wasn't all coherent)
