I just watched the Manicotti episode. This episode just freaked me out. Maybe its because i am Italian and am a little over sensitive about my foods.
1. Its not manicotti, its Manicot (with the NJ guiney accent)
2. Sauce from a jar is a No No. Sauce is no hard to make
3. Shell for manicot are also pretty simple to make and are tast a hell of a lot better.
But the episode is great starting point.

I love manicotti ... or cannelloni, but I am with you. Sauce from a jar?? Tomato sauce is easy enough to make (even starting from canned tomatoes - which are often better than "fresh" anyway), and being able to make bechemel sauce needs to be a staple in any kitchen.

I actually made it and thought it was pretty damn good not necessarily there recipe but I used a general one off of the internet.

Yea I have to agree with Klitzy, I made their version which is about a 4/5 and a version off of the internet which was really damn good. 7/5

The only sauce I use out of the jar is Classico. But that's because it's the best tasting jar sauce ever made.

Dude, i totally agree with you, i always prepare my own tomato sauce which is good depending if i can find any garlic around my freaking kitchen. Never like sauce in a jar, too much perservatives and it taste like crap.
O how i love being Italian :cool:
