I think the colour chart is just a colour check for the concept photo. I hope he smiles more in the movie.

That's a plate for color testing. If they amp up the colors on the photo, they can always check the plate to see where regular hues are in relation to the changes made.

He's not smiling because he's bored and was most likely standing around holding a color chart for 20 minutes.

That doesn't look exactly like Heath Ledger to me. This could mean any number of things. Is it really Heath Ledger? Is it a stand-in just for the makeup test? Is it a complete fake?

Regardless, it looks good. But the voice is crucial.

mmm. If it's real? Intentional. Internet buzz is the best thing in the world. But only if they were really satisfied that their work would be considered exciting.

Then again, if they got negative feedback, they might change the design.

I like it a lot. The idea that he cut his own face to make his creepy grin is fantastic.

Makes sense. If they're going for a realistic version of this (ie, what it would look like in the actual world we live in), chances are he wouldn't have a mutated mouth, rather scars which approximate a smile, which he then takes to an extreme when he goes crazy. He's kind of "shabby" which is not how I think of Joker. But maybe this is a specific time in a story when he's supposed to be shabby.

I'm down with whatever choices they want to make in this though. This is the man who made the PRESTIGE!

I was more than a little worried that we'd be seeing that cosplay Joker from your first con video. ::shudder::

They've got the look. It's cool and understated. And creepy as you said. Now it's just about the presence. It was a really out-there sort of casting announcement, but I have a good feeling about this.

EDIT: I checked a picture of HEath LEdger, and the nose seems to match up. I guess the eyes just played tricks on me. His and mine.
