The shipping list is out (http://www.ifanboy.com/shipping.html). What comic title are you most looking forward to this week?

My top pick is Powers #24, closely followed by Fallen Son Death of Captain America Avengers.

Looks like another week of abundance.

Probably either Daredevil or the Runaways trade.

Definitely JSA for me. Fallen Son would be second, but I'm looking foward to JSA, especially now since I read the JLA preceding it. Should be pretty good. I'm excited.

The book I'm looking forward most to reading is the RUNAWAYS VOL 7 LIVE FAST DIGEST TP
But the single issue this week I'm looking for to the most is difficult but probably 52. Considering there is only two issues left I'm hoping they're packing quite a punch! Other than that in second is actually Wolverine, I can see where Lobe is going with this book and I think it's going to be really interesting.

Six books for me this week too! What's happening to the world we need more comic books! So far no cuts but next week unfortunately lots of cuts:( its all necessary though and I have no regrets whatsoever:)

Can anyone tell me anything about JSA Classified? I hear it mentioned as part of trades and such, but I don't know anything about the track record of the writing quality.

There's one coming out this week by Tony Bedard (???) and Dennis Calero (X-Factor). It focuses on Alan Scott.

I'm super-psyched for Fallen Son after seeing the preview pages on CBR and this new, 70's era Astro City has been great, but Daredevil is my most looked foward to book this week by far, I just can't wait to see what Brubaker does on his first, real arc (Devil Inside and Out and Devil Takes a Ride were cleaning up Bendis' run, making it possible for Brubaker to tell the stories that he wanted to tell, not the ones seemingly forced upon him by Bendis)

kwok_talk
04-24-2007, 01:03 PM
Is JSA in the middle of an arc now? Or could I just jump on. I'm kind of curious with all the talk everyone's had about it.

paper
04-24-2007, 01:22 PM
This issue of JSA is more of a continuation of JLA than anything else.

The past 4 issues set up the new, massive, team. But I think you'd be fine to jump on if you're interested in the Lightning Saga, which started in last week's JLA.

fred
04-24-2007, 01:44 PM
I also think that this would be a relatively good place to jump on to jsa.

I'm not the best to vouch for it though because I've read them all and still find myself confused. It doesn't matter though - it's that cool.

This is the series where a female neo-nazi speedster runs through a kid (check out the podcast for issue #3).

Yet it's a fun book. It must be seen to be believed.

fred
04-24-2007, 01:49 PM
I can't explain it either. It's just really cool

alexg
04-24-2007, 02:04 PM
Yeah, I think this is a good jumping on point--Probably won't be any more confused to the characters than the rest of us. Besides, I'm sure folks here on the board can fill in backstory.

JSA and Checkmate are pretty much the DC books I look forward to the most.

Not to sound cynical, but it sounds weird that everyone is confused by the book yet still thinks it’s great. It’s a light week, so I’ll still try it out though.

Personally, I've never been confused by the amount of characters in JSA. I just really like it. The whole leagacy aspect of it and them trying to make better heroes just made me interested in it, and damn, that first storyline was great. I'm hoping The Lightning Saga is just as good.

This isn't a thrilling week for me. The stuff I want to read most is all on Mister S' pull this week. In my pull I would go with Exterminators or maybe even the Star Trek book.

Week 51!

Although I do kind of feel like the 52 conclusion thunder was quelched by the countdown marketing blitz.

I was looking forward to a sensation of loss after 52. I used to dream about a surprise week 53 issue.

My dog is dying and I'm not ready for a new puppy yet.

If I were you, I'd worry more about the hubby. He's been going on an on about the "campaign tail", whatever that means.

I'm not confused. Confused is the wrong word, because it's not frustrating. I'm just not familiar with all of the characters, but I'm enjoying learning about them. It's my second favorite DC book, right after Robin.

Has Outsiders been good? I'm curious because of the impending "Check-Out" crossover...but haven't really been a Winnick fan of late--just me.

Not a stunning endorsement....guess I'll wait for the crossover to start before dipping into Outsider issues. Nightwing Annual got me more interested in Nightwing as a character tho--seems like there are no good books with him right now tho.

Yay! I don't get comics this week! Well, I do, but not until Friday when I have peeps from home bring them to me. And I'm all jacked up about the new WALKING DEAD and Carey's GOD SAVE THE QUEEN hardcover OGN too. They'll make for good post-con reading when I get finally get my hands on them.

I only ended up getting the 3rd & 4th volumes of Fables. I already have the Runaways trades and am waiting for TWD to come out in hardback. I totally contemplated getting completely caught up with Fables and getting volumes 3-8, but just couldn’t bring myself to spend that much (I already had a bit floppy-wise)

Ok, Jeph Loeb wrote two of the 8 books I bought this week and both were pretty much a let down. Not terrible, but uhmm...not that good.

Wolverine--this arc pretty much Blows
Fallen Son--left me thinking...uhmm...huh?
