Any Arctic Monkeys fans on the board?

If anyone is unaware, I have to heartily recommend their new album that drops today. It's pretty damn amazing, and proves they are worthy of the elite company people have put them in. For that matter, if you haven't heard their first album (Whatever people say I am, that's what I'm not), get your ass to a record store, it's one of the best rock albums to come out in forever.

As a Brit I find them overrated. That's not to say they don't make enjoyable music, but give me someone like Razorlight anyday over the Arctic Monkeys.

I guess I have a bit of a different perspective, the US is very much removed from the Arctic's hype. I've seen all too often how hype can destroy a band, movie etc. However, I think the Arctic Monkeys have lived up to, and surpassed, the hype surrounding them. Releasing Brianstorm as the first single off the second album was brilliant, it instantly melted away any fears of the band not being as advertised.

They also make most (Notice: most) American bands look pathetic in terms of their music and attitude.

I'm with you on Razorlight, they are quite a good band. It's a shame their handling in the US has been terrible.

I've been listening to it since it's release and I can safely say it's pretty good. It feels a bit more mature than Whatever. I'm particularly find of Fluorescent Adolescent, the riffs feel similar to early rock like Chuck Berry.

I'm so happy someone brought this up. The new album is AWESOME. "Fluorescent Adolescent" is a HIT RECORD. Their music is clever without being pretentious, which makes it fun (and music should be fun). Wes, you feel they're overrated (and that's you're opinion), but I feel they are probably the best band out right now. I personally would prefer Arctic Monkeys over Razorlight any day (not to say that I don't like Razorlight, they rock too... just not as hard as the Arctic Monkeys).

My favorite worst nightmare is the one where I start out having sex with Freddie Prinze Jr.(tm) and then he turns me over on my stomach and then I look over my shoulder and it's actually John Leguizamo dressed like he was in To Wong Foo, because, you know, at least it's sex.

Maybe John Leguizamo dressed as Clown from the Spawn movie, now that would be a nightmare.
