I don't expect anyone to be as excited about this as I am but according to Rich Johnston in Lying In The Gutters:

Sherman Alexie, author of "Smoke Signals," "The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven" and "Flight," who also wrote the introduction to Jason Lutes' "Jar Of Fools," has two projects at Marvel. One is a mini-series starring the Native American mutant inventor Forge, the other is a mature readers Daredevil MAX series.

This should be at least interesting. Alexie is really good and you should check out at least the movie version of Smoke Signals if you get a chance.

he's quite talented. I'm interested to see how well it translates.

yeah i'm sure to pick it up, but it does continue the whole "lets get people who don't write comics to write our comics" i wonder if that really increases sales?

Daredevil MAX? Is that necessary? I guess it would fit with the gritty feel of the book, but I feel like the flagship title is just fine by itself.

I bet he'll be great on a MAX Daredevil.

Everyone should read Smoke Signals. Everyone.

it should at least be interesting. I'm happy to see him do anything for Marvel. the fact that it will be DD is just gravy for me

yeah so i understand taking a book or movie and making a comic out of it.

the question is do all the non comic writers doing books add readers? cause they don't really seem to be adding good writing

so we can agree that there are some talented "non comic" writers working in the field but there are alot of horrid ones as well. so really what is the draw?

Never was a huge Forge fan. But maybe he'll change my mind.

i always thought he had an extremely interesting power that was used more as a plot device than for any kind of storytelling. i think he has the potential for some extremely interesting stories and if this guy is a as talented as Fred and comhcinc say then it could be a really cool sci-fi story (although i see it going more in the mystical direction used in the Fall of the Mutants storyline).

I am all over a Forge miniseries; he's been awesome ever since The Fall of the Mutants and his Morlock arc in Uncanny X-Men before the Muir Island Saga was just awesome.

As for a Daredevil MAX series...I dunno. I might pick it up, since I love Daredevil, but I'm kinda weird about out-of-continuity stuff.
