I figure here is as good a place as any to bring this up.

I love music. I buy a couple albums a week, download a couple more... Where most people watch TV, I listen to music. If I could listen to music 24/7, I would... and then I'd start listening to two songs at once.

Today, I picked up the new Nightwatchman disc One Man Revolution. For those who don't know, this is Tom Morello's -- Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave -- solo stuff. I had a little three song promo disc of it a few weeks back, and was really blown away that it's acoustic! But the songs were good, and I like Morello, so I decided to pick it up today.

It's really ****ing good. Modern day protest bordering on folk music from a guy I only knew for his ear splitting sounds with Rage (never really got into Audioslave). It's still simmering with the anger of Rage, but without the cynicism. Like, it's ok to be pissed about what's going on in the world, but maybe there's something you can do about it instead of just sitting there being pissed. Good stuff.

I recommend it, if that means anything to you.

But yeah, what else should I be checking out? What are some of you guys listening to? (And please, I know, Arctic Monkeys. Yes, blah blah ;) I get the point already!)

I've been very much into the 12 Girls Band (http://www.amazon.com/Twelve-Girls-Band/artist/B000APVVEE) as of late (Miracle Live (http://www.amazon.com/Miracle-Album-Twelve-Girls-Band/dp/B0000WN046/ref=m_art_li_4/104-4560152-4064712) in particular), but I don't know if they will do it for you. Like everything else, you can read more about them @ wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twelve_Girls_Band).

I am really into this group Circa Survive, their new album just came out two weeks ago. I discovered them while shopping for clothes, the record came on and I bothered all the clerks to find out who it was. Since then I have tracked down every project the singer (Anthony Green) has been involved in and they are all pretty much awesome.

www.myspace.com/circasurvive (although I think they are better when listened to an entire album at a time)
www.myspace.com/highanddrivingep (demo ep by Anthony Green where he plays all the instruments but drums, this never came out, but is a great listen - like an emo Jane's Addiction)

been getting into the baroque pop stuff lately (The Shins, Elliott Smith, Radiohead, Arcade Fire, etc). Saw The Shins a few nights ago and they were amazing.
