They were talking about it on this weeks episode and I was just curious if anyone here still plays it. I've never played it, but I've thought about getting it for a while now. WOW just doesn't do it for me anymore and I here that SWG is more like WOW now but they are adding new things to keep it somewhat different.

The way Alex described it made it just seem well.... "rad"(sorry). One thing I was curious about is do they have a lot of world events thats something I'm looking for because WOW's events were just so few and far between. Any feedback will help.

I used to play it, but got out of it for the same reasons Alex was explaining. I haven't gotten back into it though I would LOVE to. There are a lot of things in the game that just killed it for me. One of the main things was starting out as a Jedi. WTF? Start as a Jedi? If memory serves, this was something that came about in the NGE. Jedis should be elite characters. Not just any bozo should be able to hop on and go "I want to be a Jedi." At least that is my opinion. Oh, you used to have to build your own lightsaber before the "upgrades" too. But the really question is, is this the return of DrSleak and Mantello Mandalorian?

i miss my SWG...

i'd be curious to see who is still playing this game, and i wonder if my old discs will still work?? i used to play back before the CU. i was a master droid engineer, and would work on raid groups for acquiring mandalorian armour. they needed MDE's for getting the mandalorian helmet, and the jetpack. i made many, and i am still proud of that to this day.

unfortunately, i couldn't see how the CU made the months i neglected my studies worth while to just zap my hardwork in to thin air...

that game was so technical and deep, sure it had its flaws and imbalances, but it was awesome the amount of control you could have, and the amount of random starwars-y shit you could do.

if it's good again... i would consider going back dispite my grievances...

I played it right up until the NGE

and I have to agree with Dan, when Alex was talking about what happened when it logged that was like the best gaming experience of my life via Alex.

It's cool to hear they are bringing back CH, I too might have to rejoin the Darkside

Alex made the game sound amazing. I really want to play. I'm still not a fan of monthly payments, though, and that may keep me away.

I have been looking for a MMO to play for a long time and thought I would give this a try. WoW is too booring and repetative for me, EVE takes way to much time to really enjoy (but when you do, you REALLY do).

So what server should I join? What server is Alex playing?

Dunno if there are enough people to really create a good guild though... Actually I don't even know how guilds work in SWG, I just assume it's about the same as WoW. Anyway It would be cool to meet some trs fans, and hopefully the hosts aswell (get a PC!), ingame.

I used to play SWG from launch till the NGE then I came back once after the NGE, and well now I can't stand to play it.

But on a note for guilds it isn't like wow. In SWG you will need to build a guild hall, pay maintenance on it, and to join you have to go to where the guild hall is. Also you might want to be careful on which server you join, I have heard rumors from some people I used to play with that there are talks of taking down servers and moving them into others.

Ok, I've joined the Flurry Galaxy just to play until we find out where Alex is hiding. I've almost reached lvl 10, but I do think that there is some sort of transfer service to move a character to another galaxy. Anyway, I do enjoy it so far. It's absolutely diffrent from WoW, and that's exactly what I need now. Graphics are older, but thats to be expected, the game can be a bit jerky some times, but It's ok most of the time. I really enjoy the fact that you can have fun shooting people or monsters, and when you get sick of that you go out for a flight and shoot down some space ships. If anyone wants to contact me on Flurry, I'm named "Drizz Baghrah".

So I just jumped back in after having been gone for probably 8-9 months. I have to say that driving through some of the outlying areas of Tatooine was depressing so many abandoned houses. Of course when I got to Naboo it was a bit busier, but still, Tatooine was eerily quiet.

I'm up for starting a TRS guild. I have a Smuggler and a cl80 Bounty Hunter on Bria with some credits (From what I can remember). I am willing to start a new guy on a different server though.

I played SWG when it first came out and rolled a bounty hunter. I played for the empire and with a friend of mine we pretty much owned what we wanted. I eventually quit giving my friend the toon which he turned into a doc to make a buff bot for his Jedi. But once they opened the door for anyone to be a jedi he left as well. It was sad for people to spend all that hard work to become a jedi only to have the game nerfed so you could just roll one. I understand the business decision but I don't agree with it. They should have at least made special servers for those who wanted to keep things the way they were.

As far as other MMO's go I played WoW off and on and it never really appealed to me. I was an avid EQ player back in the day with multiple accounts. I really liked the way they handled PvE. But the best MMO for PvP I've played has been Dark Age of Camelot. The raids with siege equipment and taking down forts and outposts was just a lot of fun. I'd still be playing this game if my windows PC didn't take a crap.

I've been waiting for Warhammer to come out, this is from Mythic who also does DAoC. But I need to get my PC together first.

Yeah that was one of the main draws to me a couple of years ago when I was thinking about playing but then when I finally decided that I was gonna give it a try I found out about the NGE. So I decided not to get it.

I just signed up last weekend after alex's awsome game expierence and i am loving it. sometimes its hard to find people, but the missions are fun and the people that are on are nice and very willing to help. the interface is a little weird and not very user friendly but so far other players have been helping me out with that too.

I probably had 50 million on my account that I just stopped logging into and eventually canceled my subscription, if I sign back up with that name you think the credits will be there? Its been at least 2-3 years I'd say, but maybe just a year ago I logged into one of my different accounts and everything was still there that I had on me including like a million in credits that I gave to the first person I saw lol.

"If your Star Wars Galaxies service has been inactive since April 17, 2006 and you do not re-subscribe by May 31, 2007, your houses, PA halls, factories and associated assets will be packed up into your inventory and removed from the game servers at 11:59 PM PDT on June 5, 2007."

Well from what I read they aren't really doing anything. They are just going to make the houses and such destructible and people can destroy them and get cash and rep or something along those lines.

Downloaded a trial about a year ago and was pretty dissapointed. My friend was playing it when it had just come out and back then it was so frickin' cool! But again; it's not anymore.
