Running Time: 00:20:29
Superheroes do nothing for you? Does the sight of grown men and women in colorful spandex get you down? All this talk about costumed crime fighters make you itchy? Well, iFanboy is here to help! This week, the guys spotlight five great books for people who don't like superheroes! Between Fell, The Walking Dead, DMZ, Y: The Last Man, and Fables there is nary a mutant X gene or shadowy scourge of the underworld to be found

"I baked cookies and doesn't seem to be helping."
that was the best line ever - great show - love the comedy aspects of the show..
and with the cookie theme - could there be an ifanboy cooking episode in the future (although i am not sure how it would relate to comics, but if you found a way to marry the two, it would be potentially genius.. arrrgghhh green hulk jello)?

Here's a suggestion, next week all the guys eat peanut butter, and no beverages are allowed.

Three or four, I think. I thought about blowing my lines on purpose just to **** with Ron, but decided that wouldn't be nice.
sometimes the funniest things aren't very nice

Can you guys do a show dedicated to 'history-themed' comics? I know there's material out there, but I don't think I've read any of it personally (other than, say, 300). I think Josh mentioned being interested in historical fiction recently, and Conor put together that great Civil War documentary script, so maybe there's some discussion to be had there.
Great show as always, gents.
here's an idea - a show on the history of cookies. everyone wins

Not unless iTunes figures out a way to download actual cookies to eat along with the episode.
that would be awesome
what about a show on hash brownies?

Have you been spending some time in the General Discussion forum???;)
not recently, are they doing that there? They did ask us to post recipes right?

There was a thread about one member whose mom bakes pot brownies and gives him some. On a related note, there was also a thread on mushroom experiences and another on coming off of hard drugs. I’ll refrain from any comments.
Just so we don’t get the thread derailment bomb dropped, I’ll also say that I’m looking forward to this episode (I’m still a little backlogged on the video shows) b/c a lot of those series (Y, DMZ, TWD) are ones that I started b/c of recommendations from here.

Actually, there's a very good chance of this being a show at some point, but it's quite a ways off at the moment. I'm pretty sure we'll get there though.

Hmm, loved the issue. You guys should have mentioned Rex Mundi, its a brilliant series completely removed from the superhero genre that's just as good as Y or Fell.

Credit to his health... he seemed like he was faking being winded. Although, I guess that's sort of a backhanded compliment saying he didn't act it convincingly enough. Whoops.

Hurry man hurry, last issue is a good pick-up point for the new arc. Don't let it pass you by.
PS - 28 Days Later is the fast zombies [but the first two pages of the series was ripped straight from that film]. Walking Dead features Romero like slow and bumbling zombies. Although the Dawn of The Dead remake ALSO featured fast moving zombies [and was directed by the same guy who did 300 and is working on watchmen. Full circle here, full circle].
I love zombies.

I don't mean to be a contrarion, but the cookies were kind of annoying.
The sound of people talking with there mouths full, and the constant sound of chewing/ lip smacking got on my nerves. And it seemed to really hinder the flow of the discussion.
But the books mentioned seemed interesting.

Mary Mary, quite contrarian
Had the breath of an old librarian
I tried watching the show again while eating a small plate of cookies.
Experience = heightened.

We've found people either really enjoyed, or really hated the cookies part. I assume it has to do with the level and quality of the speakers you were listening with. Or if you have an innate disdain for the sound of lipsmacking, which to me is like nails on a chalkboard.
Don't worry. It's not a regular thing, but it was us playing around, which we certainly do from time to time. Win some, lose some.

Funny thing about that - there was COPIOUS amounts of alcohol and food consumed that weekend but both Ron and I lost a not-insignificant amount of weight when it was all said and done.

Great show fellas...my vote was for the cookies, it lent some nice character. I think on our next cast we should eat some sushi. Course it is different when you don't get to see it...
