my god that ww cover is terrible
Makes you wonder whether DC is intentionally trying to sink WW as a title. Bad stories. Bad art.

It does, but aren't they launching a ww crossover this week? They make no sense

on wordballoon Rucka, who was very clear to point out he bears current WW writers absolutely no ill will, said the WW relauch has been "one of the most ignoble relaunches in recent history" which is damn true. I'm not picking on Picoult anymore...it's really not her fault (crappy storytelling aside) the fault really does seem to lie with DC editorial.

i'd be more upset about this if it wasn't for the fact that i dont care whatsoever about the character, DC has to draw me in, and they got my attention with the first heinberg run, but it was quickly lost, they have to do something AMAZING with her now to get me back

Well, who knows? We know Simone's potential, so maybe things will get better....

I believe Gail Simone will do well with WW, but we have to wait until #13 before she arrives.

Yeah, I've dropped the book until then. Can no longer buy any books that suck so badly just to support a character I like, no matter how much I like the character.

Since she's my girl like that and I know for the fact if I don't get them now, i'll be looking for them years from now or when I organize my comics again whatever comes first.. 2 more issues..

Good point about Torres, I'm willing to give those issues a shot.
I really want to go back and read the Rucka issues again after hearing him talk about Wonder Woman on Word Ballon. Maybe I'll just pretend that those are the new issues.
Acomicbookgirl--you gotta let us know what you think when you get to read issue 8.

I'll eventually re-read Rucka's run.. You really want to hear my review on that don't you? I'm kind of afraid to post anything after the last fiasco to be honest with you... I'll post it or post a link on where you can read it.. ;)

The thing that strikes me as interesting is DC is always trying to push that WW is just as big as Superman and Batman, and sadly she's not. If they did to the core Batman or Superman books what they've done to WW people would go NUTS. Some people are pleanty pissed about what happend to WW no doubt, but if this happend to Superman or Batman there would be alot, and I mean ALOT more pissed off people.

Wonder Woman killed a guy during Infinite Crisis and the government is hunting her for the murder. They captured her last month.

I was very critical of WW #7, but really dug #8. It dovetails with Amazons Attack! #1. Hope you enjoy.

I HATE claremont, but i love the x-men and i respect iFanboy's opinion enought to give it another try.

I gave number 8 shot...still find that this characterization of wonder woman really grates on me. Read Amazons attack as well and found it...I don't know, to me this is the DC equivalent of Silent War.

I really wanted to like the new WW series. I was a huge fan of the John Byrne run and always enjoyed The Contest trade....the later might have something to do with Deodato's art.
With Allan Heinberg on the book I was excited....until he bailed, then I got pissed. I'm so sick of big name writers (and artist) jumping on a book only to leave because they don't have enough time for everything on their plate. Its the same with the Donner story. If you can't finish a story then you shouldn't start it.

So I finally got around to reading WW#8. It made Amazon Attack make more sense, but I'm still kinda lost. When was WW arrested? Did I miss an issue? Also, I thought the whole Max Lord thing had been cleared up, a few times. Didn't she get pardoned by a World court? And wasn't she facing trial by the government in Manhunter? Why is she just know getting arrestd in her own series? And does her partner guy know she was posing as a DEO agent? Also, when did the Amazons come back? Last I heard, they had left this plane and the island was sucked into the ocean in Infinate Crisis?
Jeez. People give Marvel such a hard time about continiuity issues. DC has done a right job of messing up WW...

Wonder Woman #7.

Not as far as I know. Looks like the World Court has no jurisdiction over US courts.
In the Manhunter title, Wonder Woman has asked Kate Spencer (whom she knows to be Manhunter) to represent her before the Federal grand jury that has been empaneled to determine if she can be considered liable for the killing of Maxwell Lord after her criminal exoneration by the World Court..
And does her partner guy know she was posing as a DEO agent?
Nope.
Also, when did the Amazons come back? Last I heard, they had left this plane and the island was sucked into the ocean in Infinate Crisis?
It wasn't sucked into the ocean, it was transported to another dimension, where it still is - that's where the Amazons attacked from.

This was Wonder Woman as a Superhero, and untill someone gets the Mythology thing right, that's the best way to write her.
I have to admit, I liked this issue, this Picoult chick isn't doing too bad. But um, still not great.
