The past 2 or 3 weeks, the first time I download I always get a partial episode, also. Then I'll download it again, and it's fine.
I hate getting 5 minutes into a discussion and then the video stopping. :(

Being home schoold or tuition by correspondence sucks a lot. It's good way to lose tuch with most of you'r friends and you don't have opunity to get new ones. I'm tuition by correspondence and i realy hate it!
I hopa Patrick you'll find a good way to celebrate you'r 18th birthay. Can't realy suggest anything from what i was doing on my 18th birthay, becouse i don't realy remember, i was too wasted. And yes, in Latvia we can start drinking, voting, driving, porn and so in 18.
Thank you TRS crew for another great show, i'll deffinetly see Spider-Man 3 at 4th May (premiere in Latvia). I'll check out Heroes and then we will see what it will do with my taste aginst Lost.
Too bad Video Games section was a little lame this time, i hope there will be better news to discuss next weak!
Cheers!

My 18th was very blury also, the combination of gaming, alcohol, music, alcohol and a yard glass is not a memory keeper. In Australia 18 is the legal age for everything. I had a small close bunch of friends 8 or so over at my place for drinkies. Hitting the beer like no tommorow. Great Fun. As for you, sucks you cant drink till 21, id so hate to have to wait till 21 to legally drink.. who doesn't drink before they are of legal age these days?.
I suggest im not sure on age restrictions but.. Skirmish/Paintball ?. Get a group of friends (doesn't have to be many) turn up on an open day and just go freaken wild. Would be a day to remember. Or a Stripper like Alex said. That works too

Good show. Love the Totally Rad Shirt (actually, it would be cool if it said "Totally Rad Shirt").
Good TV section this time--I'm gonna have to give Avatar a shot now, damnit.

I will obtain as much Avatar tonight as I can and tomorrow I will watch it all. I have no job and am out of school until mid June and need all the TV shows I can get to fill my days at least a few more weeks when some pals come back for summer. Yes, I'll get to The Shield shortly as well... Although I have no reason to think I wouldn't like the Shield I don't know if I will love it as much as Jeff does... Because as we all know Six Feet Under is and probably always will be the most perfect television show ever O:
But we will see. Great show.

Ok I have to express something I have been waiting to be corrected in the first few episodes. When you are reviewing movies please don't go into a full in depth convo and really not even just movies but this is really the only category that bothers me. I am interested in hearing your opinion as in I thought it was good go see it some cool shots blah blah down the line. Not like 20 mins about the movies. Especially ones that I havent seen it really pisses me off I hate to hear any spoilers before I watch a film and yours convos are borderline spoilerish I do not want to know about any scenes in detail at all really. I love the show but you could cut down on some of this stuff. This is just my opinion so fan boys flame me if you want.

I just want it to be known that Godaddy is one of the worst registrars I've used. I registered two domains one time and their paypal system was jacked up. So I had to call them and make a payment over the phone, and then it ended up that I had been charged twice.
They said "we reversed the paypal payment" and Paypal showed that they had not, and they refused to ever do anything, they said it was Paypal's fault. So, it was only $18, but they ripped me off and refused to do anything for me...whores.

I'd love for the foru to do something for Patrick, does anyone have any good ideas? Since the rad trio brought it up, maybe you guys can get us organized on what a good idea to do might be? I just know it sounds like a good idea to give him a good 18th, since he took the time to write.
As far as the whole gambling debate, gambling itself is 18 (I bought lottery tickets on my 18th birthday) and drinking is 21 of course. However most casinos have a 21 age limit, even though they are for gambling, because there is tons of alcohol and sometimes it is just passed out.

Elitist dicksuck? Très créatif...
Obviously it was said in fun, and I would say pretty damn justified given the forum you are in. When a geek culture show references the biggest geek culture film of all time, I would say it's fairly surprising if someone misses the nod. Hell, it's not even a reference, the recreated the freakin' scene.
Try to relax and enjoy the show.
Heaven- In the off chance you have not seen the Star Wars Trilogy, I highly recommend you check them out. You are in for the greatest ride film has to offer.

Well actually, we have a casino here in Oregon that is a "dry" casino, meaning they don't serve any alcohol. And it's still illegal for someone who is under the age of 21 to be on the gambling floor. That is, with the slot machines, video poker etc...I don't know why. You can however hang out in the poker room if you are only 18...go figure.
The laws are weird, definitely though in Las Vegas you'd have to be 21 to go into most casinos on the gaming floor, because of the alcohol.

A friend of mine tried to turn me onto Avatar a few months ago, and I initially dismissed him. I caught the first episode and saw what he was getting at, but wasn't terribly impressed. I was also heavily involved in some other TV shows at the time, so I didn't want to start something new.
But after this glowing recommendation, it's going at the top of the list.

It's funny, but I was on facebook WAY before myspace. The problem with myspace is that people design awful pages that make viewing profiles annoying clusters of blurry images, bad music, and sparkly seizure-inducing text.

Loved the episode... Love Heroes, Jeff totally voiced it for me. This is the show I've wanted to see since I was like 11 yrs old... last episode. sweetness.
I was really hyped about Spiderman, but your review has me thinking I should maybe lower my expectations to avoid a possible let down. But I loved the other two films... that train scene in Spiderman 2 just is brilliant. The heroic save and the hoisting over the crowd always almost makes me want to cry it's so beautiful...

Wow, a dry casino and it's still 21? That's strange, I had no idea. I would guess however, that it is more of a choice for the casino than a law though, because they probably think if they lowered the age to 18 they would get a lot more immature punks causing trouble. I don't really know though. However, interesting. So, Patrick, if you live in Oregon you could go play some poker!

Yeah, Dan, that was a little sad. I especially like the fact that you have absolutely no use whatsoever for those cases now, because you have no GBA games. That three bucks seems pretty pricey now, huh? :)

great episode all around. entertaining yet informative as usual. dan, im sorry you got duped and that we laughed at you for it... but it was funny. the review of heroes was spot on, except for dan and his piechart of love, but im suprised that jeff, being a comic guy, didnt point out the similarities of the watchmen in the recent plotline... also, ive never liked avatar: the last airbender enough to actually watch it, but your enthusiasm over it and the background behind the writers of the show, may be just enough to get me to watch it...

Thanks guys for being ****ing "rad" again. I have been trying to push avatar on my friends ever since I discovered it in November and proceeded to watch season 1 and 2 straight through. They don't believe me about how amazing the show is. Can't wait for season 3 (anyone know when that is starting??)
Thought the review for spider-man 3 was good, but my only gripe was the sandman spoiler about him being in the end...but since I haven't seen it yet I guess I can't tell how much of a spoil it was. But I don't blame you because if I didn't want it spoiled I wouldn't have watched the podcast.
Another great week. This has definitely become the podcast I wait the whole week for.

First off I thought the opening was quite funny. Now onto my rant.
I really don't like Alex's comments on the PS3. The 360 Elite has already been declared a flop. And the PS3 has a few games already/coming out, Heavenly Sword as they mentioned. Oblivion is better on the PS3, and I'm not just talking about the cell shading, the performance is better as well. Metal Gear Solid 4 is PS3 only as well as FFXIII.
Does anyone else notice how Alex keeps getting the prices wrong on the consoles? He's done this on diggnation a few times. He said the PS3 was $700, and he said the WII was $350. I guess he likes adding $100 or more to the prices. And by the way, the 360 pro plus the HD drive alone already equal the price of the PS3. And you don't even get rechargeable controllers. Let alone having to use a propritary hard drive and memory card for the system. I can use the same 1gig SD card in my WII & PS3 and I only paid $10 for it at Best Buy (Sale), while a 64meg 360 memory card costs more than double that. </rant>
Spiderman 3 is looking good, I'm going to the midnight premire Thursday night/Firday morning. :)
I've been keeping an eye one Avatar, I haven't had time to watch it because I'm very busy and already watching a number of shows. But I will get into it as soon as college is out for the sumer as I'll only have work then. I goto both college and work full time.

Great show guys, loved the cardboard dupe I couldn't stop laughing.
I also loved the fact that you guys mentioned Avatar. I have kids so I get to see a lot of cartoons (some I like and some are awful) and I have been watching and loving this carton for quite a while. I went to buy it when it came out and had to hold off at the $53 price tag at the local DVD spot.
Damn $53, that's a lot for 20, 22minute episodes. I will definitely be getting this as soon as it's on sale.

I think the point is that at this moment in time, the PS3 sucks ass. In six months there may be some great titles for it and everyone may want one, but right now it just feels like Sony released the console too early.
In regards to the price, when you add up everything needed to make an XBOX 360 the hardware equivalent of the PS3, it works out more expensive. However, Microsoft are giving you choice (either intentionally or accidentally). You may not need/want all the things the PS3 gives you or you may not have the cash to buy it all in one go. Choice is good.
Now can you point me at the definitive article that classes the Elite as a flop? Last I heard, they've all sold out.
Wes
p.s. Not a 360 owner, but I would love one. I'd love a PS3 too if it had any decent games out (right now).

The convenient bit about the internet of course is that you can find arguements that say any of the three new consoles are doomed to failure, or that they are individually going to destroy the other two. If you try really hard you'll find that Apple apparently will obliterate them all with the Apple TV and iTMS (I joke, I'm typing this on a Powerbook).
All three have serious flaws, all three have solid potential, and this black cursor on black background BS has just got to stop.

Lets face it...no matter how good the PS3 may or may not look on paper, it's pretty darn hard to beat over a year of titles alreadly out (360) and amazing innovation (Wii). That, and there are no killer PS3 titles out yet. No matter what the potential of the PS3 is, or whether getting the full shebang for the 360 costs just as much, it comes down to good games and amazing experiences. The 360 and Wii have those, while the PS3 does not (at least yet)

That was my favorite opening by far! Chewie Albrecht made me laugh out loud on the train.
I feel much better now knowing that others (near my own age group) are also fans of Avatar. My son (6) started watching it and then my wife and I got hooked. Alex, (and everyone else) go buy the DVD's you will not be let down.

I think most of the comments about the PS3 are completely founded right now. Now I know that within a years time the PS3 will be an incredible machine, but as of right now it is not there. If you look at my collection I have a wide variety of consoles and games so I am no systems fanboy, but as of right now I don't see enough content worthy of a $600 purchase.
Also the comment of adding things to the 360 to make it the PS3's price, I have not purchased the HD-DVD drive as I do not have an HD TV, so I am happy I had the option to leave out a feature I don't need.

AVATAR . . . I was wondering if I was crazy for being such a fan of the show.
My Avatar bud, Brett, is 5 and I spent 4 years with him so we watched quite a few things together, especially if I could influence him to watch the "good stuff." He started school this year so we'd sit down when he'd get home and watch a few episodes of Avatar because he liked it so much. (I ordered it off Netflix.) Even if Brett was sick with a fever, he'd still grab my arm and look at me with a big laugh at the intro when Aang would hop on the ball of air and run into the statue. I let him have it when I left so I havn't gotten around to season 2 yet . . . it will be awhile cause it's not the same without my little buddy sitting next to me. (awe)
Great animation, good story, awesome characters, and very fluid fight scenes. The body language is so well done when it needs to be. Avatar is one of those shows where extra care is taken at just the right moment. The story will be going smoothly and the animation is "so-so". . . but then all hell will break loose and all of a sudden Aang is flipping around and slapping his stick with as much finesse as Bruce Lee.
And did anyone notice the Fire Bending brat is rufio from Hook?
Great intro . . . I busted a gut . . . the way dan grabbed Jeff's head was ****ing hilarious . . . I've only seen half the episode so I'm wondering if there are any outtakes from that.
I was actually surprised how well you guys reviewed spiderman 3 without dropping any spoilers (that we havn't already gotten from the trailers) . . . it was greatly appreciated.
Let us know when the T-Shirts come out . . . I'd be proud to where your pyramid.
Watched the episode with my brother on his big screen . . . man, you guys are a blast to watch.

Wonders never cease. I had no idea the Shield was still running. I caught maybe the first 2-3 seasons or so what now seems like forever ago.I thought it was great at the start... but when I stopped watching the feeling of hopelessness was just overpowering. I mean, I understand the tragedian hero and all that but you can only sustain the feeling for so long before it's seriously depressing.

Hey guys! This is my first post on Revision3. A few months ago, I stumbled upon Pixel Perfect on my ISP's gaming website and have since been watching those episodes regularly. On a whim, I decided to try out other shows from Revision3 and happened to try TRS and then Diggnation. I loved them both and quickly downloaded the other available episodes. Since then, I've been hanging out for my weekly doses of TRS, Diggnation and PP and think they're the best thing I've ever seen on the net (well except maybe for porn).
I just finished watching TRS Episode 6 today and thought it was great, as always. We went and saw Spiderman 3 last night and although you guys didn't think it was great, I can't even give it that much credit. It was hopeless! Lol.
Your segment on Avatar was totally unexpected but I thought it was pretty good. I'm glad you guys liked it. I stumbled upon that show on TV some time last year. They show it on ABC here (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) in the afternoons sometimes. Even though it seemed like a kids show (and worse, anime) I really took a liking to it. I never knew it was made by some of the people behind King of the Hill and Family Guy (both good shows). I actually just finished watching Season 2 yesterday afternoon. It was pretty good but perhaps a bit slower than the first season, with many parts simply seeming like fillers. If anyone wants links to watch it all in high qual, send me a PM :)
(Possible slight, tiny Avatar spoilers here - just covering my arse)
Some of the best episodes are flashbacks showing us more about Zuko and Iro's past. Who else thinks Iro is the best character in the series? Man I actually felt empathy and sad about a cartoon in the Episode "Tales of Ba Sing Se" at the end of Iro's mini story. Did you know the guy who does his voice recently died? He had such a cool voice and really put life and charisma into that character. Apparently they have someone else to do the Iro voice now so the character isn't going to get killed off or anything lame like that. On a side note, while watching some of that new TMNT movie a few days ago, I realised he also did the voice of Splinter!
Anyway, I'm really glad I stumbled upon the great work you guys are putting out. I think it's really fantastic and when I watch Diggnation and TRS, it feels like we're actually in the same room and just chilling and chatting about games and movies. There's not much on the net that actually makes me laugh out loud but you guys crack me up constantly. It's brilliant and you guys rock!
Your new Aussie fan,
Oli.

Dude Thank you guys for clueing me in to Avatar The last airbender. On an impulse, I ran out and picked up the first season and it is TOTALLY RAD.
I wonder if it'll take off enough to make a PNP RPG or MMORPG...
I did want to ask if the guys dug Sin City and 300. Word from Chud.com is that they're turning Frank Miller's Ronin into a movie.
Loved it,
Keep the Good Work On!

XzOn.
First off, I really enjoy the show and plan to check it out every week. I like the opening segments. Also, I like the varity between shows. You can talk about Rad stuff and not the exact same segments every week. Some weeks = movies and games, others = tv and whatever.
Anyway, main reason for the post is for mentioning Avatar. I would have never checked it out but am LOVING it. I'm already over half way through the first season and it just gets better every episode.
Keep up the good work.

Regarding Dan Gets Hosed...I just had this conversation with my 5 year old over DS cases. He was insisting the games were real - I bought the damn things just to prove it to him that they were fake. :)

I'm also just posting just for Avatar. I'm 21 and have been watching it since the beginning and it ****ing rocks my radness to awesomeness. I've been trying to get my friends to watch it, but they "hate" it, though they haven't seen a full episode. Also, there is an Avatar game for (i think) about every last gen console, and it sucks ball, and a lot of them.
Also again, Spiderman 3 was meh.
