Hello guys first of all want to say love the show. Well i've been watching avatar as well and i think its pretty "RAD", but another show i fell in love with and am happy to say i own the whole collection and the movie of is Fullmetal Alchemist. If you haven't heard of this show you have to watch it. Its set in old England and it about two brothers who's mother dies and they try to bring her back, thats when things go wrong one looses and arm and a leg the other his entire body so they go on a quest to find the philosophers stone which will amplify they're alchemical powers and return things to normal. i will say if you watch the show you got to watch the movie. well thats my favorite i want to know what you think sorry about the length of this over worded comment.

Some of the anime that I would recommend:
Now and Then Here and There (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=287)
R.O.D. the tv show (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=1989)
Fantastic Children (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=4241)
Noein (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=5887)
Elfen Lied (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=4148) *extreme violence warning*
Ayashi no Ceres (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=12) bit of a soap opera but still good

Most recently I've seen Noein and Fantastic Children, and they've been the best I've seen in over a year. And sorry I had such a long list >.<

Robotech, Teknoman, and Fist of the North Star.

Man I totally forgot about Teknoman!! Thatwas the most rad show on TV when I was a kid!! BOOYAH!!!!!

I recommend going for Trigun, Evangelion, Hellsing, and Cowboy Bebop.

Trigun was cool in a lighthearted way. It was nice not to have that "last third mindf***" that so many annime series go with (Eva for example). Cowboy Bebop is great because to me at least, it felt like most episodes were all self contained stories, with character developmetn sort of taking a back seat. Mind you i watched all the episodes in about 3 sittings.

I assume you mean Full Metal Alchemist? If so, that show is absolutely freaking amazing!!

Also, I would highly suggest Samurai Champloo if you ain't seen it.

I'm not a huge anime fan, but here's the list of my favorites so far in no particular order.

Fate - Stay Night
Guyver: The Bio-Boost Armor (The new one)
Last Exile
Genshiken

And I just started watching Trinity Blood and it's been pretty good so far.

a totaly agree with this list. i would also like to add to it

Initial D
Vampire Hunter D
I have to also agree with anything Miyasaki made
I started to get into Naruto, until the kids that i work with started to talk about it to death and it got rather annoying. i like the manga but the anime kinda went down hill for me.

What about the Granddaddy of all good anime: AKIRA
Now if only you could watch it on DVD with the original voice actors they were much better.

Also forgotten:
Hellsing
Serial Experiment Lain
Perfect Blue
Ninja Scroll
Gunsmith Cats

I really like Samurai Champloo. My new favorite yet weird anime series is Speed Grapher. I've also rediscovered My Neighbor Totoro.

Missed the one mention by name. Didn't miss the "all vampire anime." But Hellsing is good enough to mention a few times.

I am agree with Speed Grapher. Though I haven't finished watching it yet.

From Amazon:
"Plot Synopsis: Ten years after the Bubble War, the dichotomy between the rich and the poor in the world becomes more prominent and Japan is no exception. The rich seeks to satisfy their desires and derive pleasure for themselves, and Tokyo has materialize into such a city as a result. Saiga, once a war photographer, works for Hibara Ginza in the capitalist state of Tokyo. He infiltrates into Roppongi Club, a secretive base located in the red district area of the city, to collect information about them. However, he was caught in the process and brought forward to a girl called Kagura who was in the midst of a ritual. His contact with Kagura awakens his special ability: the power to make things explode once photographed. In order to unravel the mystery behind the Roppongi Club and Kagura, Saiga begins his solitary battle."

Good stuff.

For some reason I simply cannot get into Akira. I love it at the beginning when they are on the bikes and stuff, but the longer it goes on, the more it drags on, and the less I seem to care about the story. Tetsuo (sp?) Isn't that interesting of a character to me.

This one (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bakumatsu_Kikansetsu_Irohanihoheto) is pretty awesome.

BBB (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Blood_Brothers) was short and sweet.

The only animes I truly love are Neon Genesis Evangelion for its gorgeous art direction, FLCL for its excellent use of The Pillows, Excel Saga for being one of the funniest cartoons I've seen period, and Puni Puni Poemi, which is from the same people as Excel Saga. It's really short, 2 episodes I think. It's kind of like japanese Aqua Teen. Good stuff

The reason I like Avatar is because it's not really anime. While it may look like it, it's written by americans.

The problem I find with real anime is that it's usually just so foreign, ludicrous and convoluted.

Since Avatar is American . . . I have to mention I'm a big fan of "The Batman" on the CW . . .

(I've seen about 8 episodes - is it coincidence they were good or is the whole series decent?)

I'm sorry, but I just have to say that everytime I see this thread I instantly think of the word RADnime. A mix of RAD and anime to create the worlds raddest anime:

RADnime: (n) Rad-ni-may. Very rad anime.
