I am looking to purchase a 50-inch (approx) flat panel TV. Any suggestions? I am also very unsure about going with a Plasma vs. LCD.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am on a budget so keep that in mind. thanks

Plasma's have better black levels. LCD's have higher resolution (1080p) when you consider the size and price. It's quite a complicated topic. Personally, I'd go LCD over Plasma (a year ago I felt otherwise). Sharp Aquos looks great and so does the Sony XBR line (more expensive though). I guess it all depends on your budget.
By the way...a guy that works at a major electronics store told be prices are set to drop 30% in July. The start of the big push to all digital. Sounds reasonable, but it's just a rumor at this point.

I would like to try and stay in the sub $2500 range, what do you think?
Also, what about 1080p, do I need it? Or is 720p or 1080i good enough? I will mostly be watching cable (HD) TV or just regular DVD's for now.
