Love the show, but can someone either point out an episode where he talks about taking a picture that's a bit grainy and reduce it to look crisper?
Or if anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it.

This may sound a little weird but it works...
To reduce grain:
Most of the grain is stored in the blue alpha channel so what you want to do is first switch the color mode to lab (it is located within edit/mode menu (I think)). Then go in to the channels palette and make the same gaussin blur to each of the a and b channels. (The blur will depend on the size (rez) of your image AND the amount of grain that the image has. (You should play around with the blur settings in order to come up with a good result that suits you.) Then switch back to RGB mode or whatever mode you were working in before.
Trust me this works!!!! :) :) :)
I learned this technique from Alex Lindsey on "Call for Help".
