That actually looks pretty cool, I'll have to remember to watch it once I get done with some of the other stuff I've downloaded.

If you live in the USA you can watch it on nicktoons. You can also download the episodes from iTunes and XBOX marketplace.
Skyland (full French title: "Skyland, Le Nouveau Monde", or "Skyland, The New World"), is a CGI animated television series developed in France in partnership with Canada/Luxembourg for the television channels France 2 (France), Teletoon (in Canada), the NickToons Network (USA), ABC Australia, and CITV on ITV1 and the CITV Channel (UK). A one hour, worldwide preview was aired on November 26, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. or 8:00 p.m. EST and again and 11:00 p.m. as well as at 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 the following day. The program was hosted by Chase Francisco. It was launched on April 22, 2006, at 7:30 p.m. on Teletoon. On July 2, 2006, an encore of the one hour pilot aired on Nicktoons Network. The show is produced by Paris's Method Films and Toronto's 9 Story Entertainment.
A Nicktoons Network advertisement for Skyland aired and they reported that it will have its "Real" Premiere on Saturday, November 18, 2006 at 9/8c. Also, the original French version was seen for a very brief time on TV5MONDE in the United States.

Skyland is a pretty good show. I really enjoy the story, the characters and the scenery. However, the writing and voice acting (at least the english voices) are pretty bad. Also there's something about the motion capture that just doesn't look right. It's still worth a watch though.

I've seen some episodes of Skyland. It looks ok but I prefer Avatar.
I guess this feels a bit like a cross between Avatar and Matrix.

This is a show that could have been good, but there are some limiting factors that really reduce that potential.
I saw the free episode when it was on XBOX Live Marketplace, and in retrospect, it's a lot like a poor man's Avatar. In fact, it is very easy to see the influence Avatar has had on this series... It stars a girl (don't remember her name unfortunately) who has powers produced by sunlight, and a boy who is skilled with the boomerang. In the pilot, they were running from a villian who has a red fire-shaped tattoo on her eye, and its their destiny to save the world from an evil faction of... evilness. Sound familiar?
It has an intriguing plot in theory, but thats its only redeeming quality. The character graphics look like a mix of cel-shading and 3D graphics... I imagine it as what Crackdown would look like if it was produced on the N64. The voices are so terrible and strangely dubbed, and the writing sounds like a badly translated Grade 6 Paper... full of cliches and hurting the potential of the plot.
Maybe it gets better as you go, but based on the pilot alone, pass on this one.

Some of my favorite shows are children's shows. Though, they are more like adult shows wrapped in 3d/cartoon graphics and presented as children's shows. I haven't seen Skyland yet but don't knock the kid's shows :<
haha.

Just because a shows chosen medium is cartoon doesn't mean it cannot be as thought provoking, entertaining, or innovative as a live action one or one with a different demographic.
Although I am not a harry potter fan. Uck. haha.

Just because a shows chosen medium is cartoon or its demographic is geared towards children doesn't mean it cannot be as thought provoking, entertaining, or innovative as a live action one or one with a different demographic.
I guess is a better wording of what I meant. If you don't like it because it is shown on a children's network then fine, but that doesn't mean that there couldn't be any reason for an adult to watch it and enjoy it.

ha! you are so defensive of the fact that you like cartoons it's not ever funny. i never said any thing about cartoons.this show was developed for children. it is overly simplistic and should be boring to to any adult. if you were to branch out to more complex forms of entertainment you might find more enjoyment.
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child,
I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

I watch mostly dramas or comedy television shows but just because something is made "for children" does not automatically make it impossible for an adult to extract the same amount of entertainment from it as an "adult" show. That's all I'm saying.

Henry Rollins: one of the wisest, most outspoken people in the country. It is a shame more people do not listen to what he has to say more often.

Kids show or not, I dont give a shit. I'm 4 episodes deep and I'm really digging on this one.
There are moments when it seems really awkward, but the bits between those moments more then make up for any queasy feelings of disturbance with kick ass visuals and some pretty stellar fight / flight sequences.
