Does anyone have selling experience on eBay? I've been on it since February 1998, and an astounded at how snippy the buyers have become. Once it seemed the problem was with sellers, but buyers have become horribly rude! I sold an item, received payment, and sent it. It has tracking. It just hasn't arrived yet. It's been just a couple days. The buyer has sent dozens of messeges of a nature I can't quote here due to the number of expetives as a result of her impatience. I have been ripped off for more money as a seller than as a buyer.

This current lady though may end up being a problem. I get the feeling that she is going to attempt a charge-back, regardless of receipt. If a buyer tries a charge-back and you can prove receipt, you are still often out of luck.

Right now I'm pretty po'd.

Im sorry :(....I have only used ebay twice to sell things and I had the same thing. All this was recently so I don't know anything else but yeah buyers are often like that. I probably would be too.

I think part of the problem is people are still so paranoid that it's not safe to buy stuff online. It took the longest time for me to convince my mom that shopping online is generally safer than shopping at a mall.

Sorry you have to deal with this. Luckily all my online purchases have gone pretty smoothly.

I have had good/bad experiences on eBat - worst one was a deal I knew was too good to be true. I needed a Palm VII to build a proof of concept app for a company I was interviewing at to prove I had the ability to do the job. I bought one off eBay at a terrific price - and the thing never showed. The asshole was untraceable. I lost my cash - particularly hard when you are out of work at the time.

Apart from that one, my experiences on ebay as both buyer and seller have been pretty good.

I've actually had no trouble whatsoever on eBay and I've brought and sold a lot of stuff.

That said, the majority of the stuff I sell is technology related - games, PC parts etc. The buyers here will be more net-savvy and know to give it time etc.

I think eBay really does depend on luck nowadays. You do here a few horror stories, this one being my favorite:

Ah, yes, that was hilarious to read!

The first time I was ripped off as a seller, I lost $880. That was August of 2005, right after my ex-fiancé took me for all I was worth, even taking his family and going into the house when I was gone and taking almost everything from it (why the hell some of my lingerie was missing I don't want to know since his dad made frequent passes at me). So I really couldn't afford to lose that money, and it screwed me.

This transaction was for $650, but this time it wasn't left sitting in my Paypal account. Even if she tries filing with Paypal now, the finds won't be there to freeze, and since it takes a few weeks for them to do what they do, it should show up by then since I have it with delivery confirmation. I swear some buyers are just impatient idiots.

That said, I've had a lot of really good transactions over the years too.

What's eBay? ;) JK. I have never used it personally. I am usually able to find the things I want other places.

It doesn't help that eBay and Paypal couldn't care less about their good customers.

I am considered a poweruser over there, and when problems occur you can't really do much about it, sometimes paypal will help out, but only for a certain amount of money.

Thats the whole thing of online buying.

Yup. She filed a complaint, but then sent an e-mail last night saying she felt so bad about it she couldn't sleep and apologized for cussing me out.

It would seem that, since sellers pay the Pypal fees, that they'd want to help sellers more than they do.
