Just catching up on Digg stories and saw this post about TRS. Notice the Google ad on the right... I guess they didn't leave it behind in episode 3, eh? :)

The ads are sent to you based on your interests ... what is this telling us about you? Anything you would like to get off your chest??

===
BTW - You see ads on Digg? I have never seen an ad there ... ever.

No, the current ad system crawls the page for the most popular keywords and displays ads based on those terms.

And, do you have an adblocker of some sort running? There are ads all over Digg now.

Ok, that's just funny. Still can't get away from the homoerotica.

... and yes. I use an ad blocker in Opera. I wont surf without one. The ads are actually pretty unobtrusive on Digg, but my blocker blocks them all anyway.

Not anymore... actually just last night when you posted that, I was browsing Digg, and 2 of the 3 adspaces(when reading a story) are now pictures. ....sweet!

Anyhow, you can have gay appeal without actually being gay. Just look at Justin Timberlake... Wait that's a bad example...

I am pretty sure that ad is a result of all the idiots on digg who post comments along the lines of "you're gay" or "that's gay"

A lot of those kind of people on digg sadly.

And just to clear up any doubt, I am 100% secure in my sexuality. This didn't make me question anything about myself. I have no doubts in my mind at all.

Now if you'll all excuse me, I'm going to spoon with my man while we watch Steel Magnolias on DVD and have a good cry.

I used to use Norton and wouldn't see a single ad on the internet - ever. However after the subscription expired, and after many comments from people on other forums that Norton was shit and therefore so was I, I decided to give AVG and Sygate Firewall a go. It was around this time I also changed to Firefox (a year or 2 ago). Anyway, I love them all but I see ads all over the internet now. Regardless of how much Norton supposedly eat of my system resources, it did a really good job of blocking ads (and a not-so-good job of blocking some flash media).

Is adblock an extension or built into Firefox?

With the two following addons probably 99% of ads will be blocked from firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865 https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1136
