Well, 540 is better than standard broadcast or even standard DVD. I suppose they don't use HD in the official industry standard sense of 1080i, 720p or 1080p. As internet video is concerned, 540 is about as HD as you can usually get.

well MacBreak Weekly is in 1080p that is HD

I love the show but remove the HD in the name of the Quick Time ones since it isnt really HD have it say 1/2 of 1080p it is more accurate

also why arent the XviD in 960x540 I know the file sizes would be huge but h264 is to taxing of my XBOX running XBMC 960x540 is just about the max it can play and I drop frames all the time I am glad I now can stream it to my XBOX 360 and play it but XBMC is way better

I dont mean to sound ungreatfull for the free show with priceless content in it but it is a problem when friends of mine say it is in HD and then I tell them it is not it is 960x540 they dont believe me because why would it say that these people arent stupid like some people are and think just because they have a HDTV everything is in HD

They don't actually release Mac Break on 1080p on a regular basis. Indeed, they only released in the 1080p a handful of times because they wanted to be "first."

In any case, the quicktime h.264 compression that hey use can only be processed by the latest generation of the fastest quad-core hard-core Macs.

Even releasing a video cast in 720p is somewhat unrealistic now. I play 720p video on my XBOX 360 and it look quite nice but my computer itself makes a bad job of it.

Is that true? Do I need any special software on the computer end?

Yes, it's true. If you have a Media Center PC, follow the directions on your 360(select Media Center). If you're just on a PC, check our Orb. For Mac, use Connect360.

Although, even with a Media Center PC, my friend and I found it MUCH easier to just use Orb to stream the content. We both have decent knowledge of A/V stuff, and we were having issues getting the Media Center connectivity to work correctly.

Edit: Orb may not be updated to support the new formats, yet. Connect360 just updated today, so if Orb isn't yet, it should be soon.

I don't have a media center PC. You're supposed to be able to do it anyway. The Zune software doesn't seem to work for me.

I use Windows Media Connect but they stopped updating it.
