Just wanted to throw out a heads-up for this week's Halo 3 beta. I'm carving out most of Thurs to play (since we'll all be busy Wed watching the new episode of TRS on its new day and time, right? ;) ), and would love to jam on it with a good-spirited gang of TRS brethren. So if you're interested and haven't added my gamertag to your friends list, I am 'unpronounceable'. Looking forward to receiving many Spartan laser blasts to the face from all of you!

It is for some people, but only if you applied to be a tester, otherwise you need crackdown.

Yeah, I just found that out. I went to bungie.net and pretty much read that whole thing. Darn it. I passed on the opportunity to buy crackdown when it came out because I wouldn't have had time to play it......and now I want halo!!! awww well. You guys have fun, and I expect a full report in the next TRS!!

Halo 3 Beta Downloads via Crackdown are fixed!

It's been a long day for a lot of people but we're happy to announce that effective immediately, a title update for Crackdown is available on Xbox Live that will fix the issue that previously prevented you from downloading the beta. The Microsoft team just deployed this fix and when you launch Crackdown you should receive a prompt to download the update.

Please note that it could take up to four hours for your console to receive this update based on various factors. However, the good news is that we're in the clear and Halo 3 gameplay is just over the horizon.

We realize this has been a pain for many and an inconvenience at the very least. Given the circumstances, we've decided to extend the duration of the Halo 3 Beta from June 6th to June 10th at 11:59 PM PDT. So, you lost almost a full day of play today but to make up for it we're tacking on four more days (and a weekend at that).

We apologize for the delay and hardships this issue has caused and hope that it quickly becomes a distant memory clouded by good times playing Halo 3 with your friends.

So yeah, I was playing for most of last night after I cleared my cache and whatnot to force install the update, and....

it's f'n sweet!

weapon balance is right on, especially with the new assault rifle, and equipment definitely adds a few much-desired wildcards into the battle.

I'm gonna be on in the afternoon so I'll add u. I played late last night and let me tell you, it was totally worth it!!! My wife and I finished watching Lost just b4 11:30p and told her(more like pleaded)that I just wanted to try it out real quick. I said only like 30 min and I'll come to bed. Dude, I didn't stop playing till 1am!! It was frakkin' awesome and everyone I was playing with were in total aggreement. This game is so gonna ROCK!!!

Hi guys! I am a long time lurker, first time poster. I am a huge fan of TRS and Diggnation. I was looking at Bungie's website and I found out that you can enter a persons gamertag to see their Halo 3 stats. It is kind of cool to see how our TRS host are doing....or not doing.

I'm having the same problem... seems everyone has invested so much into the previous games, that I'm having trouble keeping up. Every game I'm just getting my ass handed to me.
