Okay everyone, I need your help. My wife wants to be Jessica Rabbit for Halloween, but we are having a hard time finding the dress. If anyone can help us find one, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I found it, just not in technicolor. :D

Not really. You might have to actually look in a real dress shop, instead of a halloween costume store.

Dude, that would be sweet and get someone to be a terrorist with you...

I'm with Senshi. Surely you just need any plain red dress that shows a bit of skin. The big question is - Are you going as Roger?

That is a strong consideration. I am torn between Roger, Randal from Clerks, or V.

I could totally plug myself here as my side job, which I do for fun more than anything, is a professional seamstress. Totally. Seriously. I'm good.

Anyway, son't try costume shops. Look in either a regular dress shop for a form-fitting dress and cut a slit, hemming it, or find lace nightie and alter it. Push comes to shove, you can try this (http://www.fredericks.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=Holiday2002&category%5Fname=Gowns-Lingerie&product%5Fid=44002), again with cutting a slit. It's not straplerss, but it's for Halloween.

My vote goes to you being Roger. :)

you're obviously not a girl... to be Jessica Rabbit you can't just flash some skin in any old red dress! It needs to be a flashy, probably sequins but there are some disco-y fabrics that'd work too. Does your wife sew? Its far enough in advance that maybe she should deside to make it herself... it'd be a lot easier than the costume I've desided to make for myself.

Diva, what are you making?

The option to sequins would be lace. It's the texture and/or flash. To think about it, there is this type of glittery fabric at JoAnne's that would work. If you are your wife were closer, I could make this for her. Two pieces if in a stretch fabric.

Sneshi, that's more like a tenth for him as Roger.

I am sorry to report that Jessica Rabbit idea is all but dead at this point. We have looked tirelessly for a dress to match hers but have come up short. There just doesn't seem to be anything that really matches her dress. If anyone happens to stumble upon one, please let me know. Thanks.

While I don't know where you could find any of the specific stuff... I did see a couple guys do that at Otakon last year. The best part, however, was the giant red explamation points they had above their heads. Actually, with that, I'd think it would make it obvious enough (to gamers) that you could afford to fudge a bit with the outfit itself.

swish is right, ebay is always the first place to check for these things:

Option 1 (http://cgi.ebay.com/JESSICA-RABBIT-SeXy-SULTRY-HALLOWEEN-COSTUME-2-4_W0QQitemZ130034084028QQihZ003QQcategoryZ48560QQr dZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

Option 2 (http://cgi.ebay.com/SeXy-STRAPLESS-JESSICA-RABBIT-HALLOWEEN-COSTUME-0-4_W0QQitemZ130034085088QQihZ003QQcategoryZ48560QQr dZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

Option 3 (http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Disney-Jessica-Rabbit-Adult-Costume-M_W0QQitemZ300037222112QQihZ020QQcategoryZ35841QQr dZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting)

There are several others on there too, and none of them are exactly perfect, but if it's only going to be worn once or twice then it'll get the job done just fine.

These lack the slit, but are otherwise okay.

Cody, what will she go as then?

WE FOUND A COSTUME!!! It isn't Jessica Rabbit exactly (it's Betty Boop), but it is damn close!

Necroposted spam response? Kinda fitting for a Halloween costume thread ... and they did at least have the decency to make it related to the original post.
