Gtalk? Gizmo? Skype?
I just installed Skype to try it out but I like Gtalk, just not many use it.

Well it depends. I'm not sure if it counts but me and my friends all have a Ventrilo (Vent) server.
If you've never used Vent it basically lets you connect to a server (if you want your own you have to either buy hosting or host a server yourself) and in this server are different rooms you can join to talk to people. Heres a screenshot (blurred out NWS channel names :P)

Interesting, makes me think of teamspeak though that's not hosted.

Teamspeak and Ventrilo are basically the same thing. Its really just preference. Teamspeak is hosted but costs less because it uses less CPU resources.

Then that's ideal! Do they allow you to call random people like skype does? I have nobody on my list there and i think i wan to call random people and speak funny to them.

At work we use all Shoretel gear for our PBX system. At home I use Vonage.

come again?Translation?
I have a black box that gives me a virtual extension off our corporate switchboard using VoIP technology. My phone is like anyone elses in the company ... I have an extension, I have blinky lights that tell me when other peoples lines are busy, I can transfer calls, conference calls, acces the systems voice mail. For all intents and purposes it is as if I was wired into the PBX (Private Branch eXchange - or "switchboard").

You nerd ;) :P
I use Skype on the computer but don't use VoIP as a primary line. I'll consider it once Comcast stops sucking so much and is able to keep my connection up without it going down at least once a month. :(
