What are some of your favorite childhood television shows? If you were a child in the early 90's you were lucky enough to grow up in the single best time period for childrens television in american history (in my opinion).
Some of my favorite shows growing up were:
Alvin and the Chipmunks, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Clarissa Explains it All, Double Dare, Doug, Dinosaurs, Figure it Out, Goosebumps, Gullah Gullah Island, Hey Dude, Kenan and Kel, Land of the Lost, Original All That, Pete and Pete, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, Saved by the Bell, Salute Your Shorts, The Secret World of Alex Mack, The Wonder Years, Wild & Crazy Kids.
(Some of the above shows I probably should have left out, to keep my dignity but whatever)
Sitcoms:
Step by Step, Family Matters, Full House, Home Improvement
Also can't forgot a classic childhood movie,
We Sing In Silly Ville......hell yeah.
So share your favorite childhood tv shows, and help add to the mega huge list of tv greatness?....

Anyone remember the raggydolls, 2D animated series about the dolls sent to the reject bin. Might of been a UK only but even so young I hated that annoying show, sad sack was the lamest charater ever.

For a good show remember Bananaman
"Eric Twinge... the boy who lived at 29 Acacia Road... lived an incredible double life. As a nerdy schoolboy, and whenever he ate a Banana, he turned into Bananaman!"

Well I was a child of the 80s and I lived on such fare as the various Superfriends incarnations, Thundercats, Thundarr the Barbarian, Transformers, GI Joe....all that stuff.
As far as live action I never missed Knight Rider, The Dukes of Hazzard, The A Team, The Greatest American Hero and Voyagers!
For educational TV my absolute favorite was always The Great Space Coaster, as evident by my use of Goriddle Gorilla in my avatar.

Everytime someone posts one of these favorite children's show threads, I don't understand how there is always someone who'll post a list of shows that I also watched as a kid, yet they'll be close to a decade younger than me.

I was pretty young whenI watched it, but I remember loving Starblazers series when it ran in the late 70's. When I was a kid most of what I watched was background noise. But I was very intent on watching Starblazers.
A lot of my childhood TV memories are of primetime shows. My parents were big fans of "Go outside and play".

Does anyone remember The Great Space Coaster? Man, that shit was ****in amazing. Also, Square One... the Mathnet segment was my favorite. I also liked Fat Albert. And how can we forget the greats, like He-Man, GI Joe, Transformers, the Smurfs, Thunder Cats... I could go on and on. The original Adam West Batman! DUUDE!
Despite having fond memories of all these shows, when I was growing up, I really wasn't allowed to watch very much TV. Aside from not having a TV for large stretches of my childhood, when I did have access to a TV, I was the youngest of 4 siblings plus my parents. I rarely, if ever, got to choose what we watched.
But it was all good, because my dad watched shit like Star Trek, Quantum Leap and whatnot. Good enough for me.

Great Space Coaster. My sister and I were just discussing that last week, although we had trouble deciding what it was about. I remember the news with Gary Gnu (sp?).
My father was (and still is) a huge star trek fan. I think that I had seen every episode by the time I was 5.

Awesome man! I was so seriously into that show that one time I threw a fit when my mom had to drive me to school early, that when she was trying to put me into the car, a jogger came over because she thought I was being abducted. No shit.
Anyways, sorry I totally missed your post. I do read every post before I answer hehehe. Woops!

That is some funny shit. I remember watching that show like a zombie every morning before school myself. Just me in footie pajamas eating a big bowl of cereal with a blank stare on my face.

I remember this one show.. I forgot the name. I remember it was a kid tied up in a closet and forced to play Pickle Ball. Not sure about the details, but I remember there being a blindfold involved and of course there was that catch phrase that went something like, "Don't tell your parents about this!" At least I think that was a show. Funny, I haven't seen it on DVD yet.

I was born December 8, 1980. So it's nothing short of odd that I LOVED China Beach (http://imdb.com/title/tt0094433/). By no stretch of the imagination is a Vietnam War drama a child's show, but I sneaked out to the living room to watch ot one night, wasn't scared, had an odd understanding for a seven-year-old (hadn't yet turned eight in 1988 at this time), and so my parents let me watch it.
I was hooked on Dukes of Hazzard, which ended when I was just four. My parents never knew why their little girl was so enamored with those boys that she even wanted (and got) the bedsheets she saw. I have such vivid memories of that.
As for cartoons, Ninja Turtles, He-Man & She-Ra, Thundercats, Transformers, Gummi Bears, Mario Brothers and Zelda, G.I. Joe (which I first started watching with my brother because, in exchange, he'd watch Jem with me, and I ended up loving G.I. Joe), Jem.... What didn't we watch! Everything was so awesome! I still remember whe Nicktoons released their first three toons: Ren & Stimply, which was not short on shock-value, Rugrats, and Doug. I also loved Beavis & Butthead, which is funny because I was a Christian school girl at the time.
For live-action, as mentioned, Dukes of Hazzard. Anyone remember In Living Color? Oh, and Power Rangers. I had a crush on Jason David Frank (Green, then White, Ranger) for the longest time that I'm embarassed to admit it now.
We never missed Full House, Perfect Strangers, or Family Matters, whatever was on T.G.I.F. And I absolutely loved (and still do) Boy Meets World and Wonder Years. The Wonder Years theme song makes my feel all nostalgic and want to cry.
This is really only a partial list that goes until I was 13.
And I'm also left wondering how on earth I had time to play so much!
