ok, I've been watching Diggnation from ep1 and I'm always checking multiple times on the day of release for a download link... but mainly on the ********.net site :)
Thing is I think $5/month or $50/year is still too expensive.
If I had a job, sure I would pay it... but I'm a uni student (Australia), and $50 per year is a fair bit of dough.
Now if it were $20/year I would be happy to pay it to get early access.
Any chance of adding a $20/year option? It could bring a tonne of new memberships.
cheers

US$5 == AU$6 (near enough).
Whats that ... a meal at Maccas? 2 schooners (3 at the RSL)?

Sure it's about $6 per month. But I'm living off <$190 per week which has to cover my rent, food, bills, petrol, textbooks, beer, clothes etc.
Plus I figure they're doing close to $50k ad revenue per episode ;)
A $20/year option will get a lot more people paying... especially since a large % of the viewers would be under 25 and poor students.

Want to show support for the guys? Buy a T-Shirt, and wear it to the union bar, tell people about the show, drum up viewers. You can support in more ways than a $50 membership fee.

All I can say to you treelovinhippie is if you don't want to pay so much money, DONT. Wait it out for the week. I mean, Diggnation isn't that great that it has to be downloaded the minute it's released. You're a college student right? Why dont you spend the weekdays studying if you dont want to get a job, and download the previous Diggnation episode on the weekend.

I think it's great that you want to support Revision3. You should feel free to donate whatever you can afford. Nevertheless, early downloads are only available to members who donate at established levels.
I'm sure you can abstain from that last pint every first Friday of the month in order to have a years worth of early downloads.
If I wasn't spending $150/week on groceries just to feed my family, I might listen to your arguments of poverty. How about $50 a day to commute to work. Fifty dollars just isn't that much anymore.
However, if you feel that $5/month is too much, don't donate it. You can enjoy "diggnation" on Monday (or is is Tuesday morning for you) evenings like the rest of the world.
I was a college student for twelve of the last twenty years. In that time, I always seemed to have money for beer.

So out Monday is his Tuesday.

Look at it the way I do:
If you're a sponsor, you get Diggnation on Saturday night at the earliest. When do you get your next one? 7 days
If you're not a sponsor, you get Diggnation on Tuesday night at the earliest. When do you get the next one? 7 days
I don't want to make people stop sponsoring. All I'm saying is that the only time you really will get the episode earlier is the week you decide to donate.

I'm not sure that's the issue. Some people just want to be one of the first to see something. It's the whole "opening night" effect.
As much as I love "diggnation", I'm lucky if I have enough time to watch it at all. I have a pocket of time on Wednesday usually. But that's there only because they moved the release of TRS to Wednesday afternoon.

That's one of the reasons I cancelled: once I fell behind a couple of days I couldn't catch up, and now it doesn't matter if I get the new one sat night or not. Still three eps behind anyway.
Used to enjoy being part of the comraddarie of the sat night forums, but getting behind, and crashing early negated that.
Another reason I cancelled is cause there is no "one year option" that I can find. Don't like subscription stuff automatically removed from my bank account. Not with my pay/bill schedule. Might bounce, and then I'm screwed...

If you had to pay to see DN, you'd have a possible point, but as it is, your options are to pay $5 per month (which is $60 per year - your school isn't teaching you very well), or to wait an extra couple days and watch if for free. If only theaters gave us the options to watch shit for a free a couple days after release!

There is a month-by-month option which is $5/month($60/year), or a straight yearly fee of $50.
Guess you skipped on learn to read day.
