How about making an episode that explaines how to make an linux music server.
perhaps one server for lan parties with an poll on the next song and custom playlist that users can send in trough the website, or setting up an vote on a irc-bot.

Or how about setting up your own web tv/radio station using videolan or shoutcast with a mix between live and prerecorded video.

I see what your saying, I'm sure there are alot of choices when it comes to media servers. I wouldn't mind seeing some DIY solutions or media servers for different price ranges

We haven't posted any fan suggested ideas yet but we are working on them. It takes time because of research and of course production. As for the media server we have been throwing the idea around to find out which one and what features to show off and do. So go ahead and post the features you want us to include.

Therse alread a systm ep on knoppmyth, however if you want to do another I would do a full blown show on how to set up MythTV from scratch, which is fairly challenging depending on your hardware.

I know that XBMC can do what your talking about. You can log into it from the web and control all the features too. When me and my roommate throw a party we set up a laptop by the door and have people pick songs and add them to the play list as they walk through the door. Its great and everybody loves to be a DJ.

On that note, I know it has been covered in other placed but a run down on XBMC would be fun. Its a total softmod no need to open the case. That is unless you want to up the HDD or something but I prefer a network attached storage instead.
