View Full Version : Dear Jeff
I am a huge starcraft enthusiast and I assure there is a large community of us (esp. in korea, where they have multiple 24 hour starcraft channels).
Well after the latest podcast I just wanted to tell you how much more respect I have for you after hearing your thoughts on starcraft.
Guess it just kinda threw me off to hear how perfect starcraft is on one of the podcasts that I watch.
Just wanted to say....:)

Some of the most amazing gaming moments of my life have been multiplayer matches of Starcraft on battle.net... rest assured I will be talking a lot more about SC2 as its release approaches - whether Dan and Alex like it or not!

Dear Jeff,
Cats are furry. Mostly. Have you ever had a non-furry cat? Do you think hairless cats should even be classified as cats? Or some sort of cat/human hybrid? Cuman? Hucat?
Discuss.

Agreed. It WAS very good. I just didn't get into it like I thought I would. I was still VERY into Starcraft at the time WC3 was released, and I resisted the new paradigm of Heroes and xp and leveling and the creep. I wanted more WC2 and less RPG elements. And that is exactly why I'm excited about SC2... it looks like SC, prettier and more intense. Call me anti-progress if you must, but if it ain't broke...

Dear Jeff,
I basically grew up on warcraft (no, really, i turn 26 this june). I played it all from 1 up 3 and starcraft, and, i must say, that by the time 3 and starcraft came out i was pretty much done with the whole thing.
starcraft, as well as its predisesors, is really just a numbers game (suprised that this point didn't come out in the show). The one that builds the most fighter dudes in parallel with the most pions getting the money and other goods wins the map. The only logical next step that I thought would happen is to just not think about it forever and leave it at that... or make it into an mmo (like they did with warcraft 3 -> wow).
Well, they chose the latter and it looks the exact same only at a different angel and more warhammer like now. For cryin out loud, i even remember one of the ships from the game trailer from the original starcraft! it all seems like a bunch of crazyness to me at this point in time, but no one can say for sure what it will be like until the day it is patched and nerfed a couple of months after its official release. But that could just be me.

I remember spending many all-nighters playing Starcraft online, between the regular games to the custom maps there were some great games.

Jeff... The best thing about Starcraft was that I did not buy it.
