Hey Guys. I have been contemplating on getting a mac book pro for my next laptop and it would be great to see an indigital episode on on the benefits to switching to the mac. I am a long time pc user but getting fed up with all the windows vista problems. This is my reasoning for switching and I also want to make myself more marketable in the tech support field by knowing how to fix both operating systems. I will still have a pc for gaming but would love to make the transition over to the mac. I still will have a pc in my life for my first person shooters but I want to learn how to fix and use the mac as well. I thought it would make a great show on how to take my nerdness to the next level.

I wouldn't mind seeing this aswell. I'm considering buying a mac and to be honist, i hardly know anything about them. I know some basic things and have spent a few hours playing with one. But i'm not too sure on the exact differents or the pros and cons of either format.

instead of them listing just the benefits of switching to a mac, how about review the mac. but it would kindive be bias because thats their system of choice. I have a mac book pro and love it, although i think it is too much for me, i should have went with the macbook 13" black.

I would love to see a users transition from the pc to the mac and what things they like about it and problems if any they come across. It would b great to see how the Intel versions of mac book pros stack up against a comparable dell latitude vista laptop. If possible it would also be cool to see the hacks that let you run OSX on a Core 2 Duo pc. Media Center capabilities would be a nice feature to compare between a mac and pc. Maybe even a showdown between Will and Hahn comparing the user experience between both platforms. Also how do gamers fare on both systems. I would love to also see if there are any advantages of being able to work both platforms under the same roof.

Hey Guys. I just wanted to let you know that I am running XP Pro now. I did buy Windows Vista Ultimate when it first came out. I had a great beta experience but the Retail version on my current system sucks. I wont be going back to Vista until I can upgrade to a new dual core system. I know I was stupid for buying Vista before SP 1 :)

I think this is a great idea for a show, and could also be a nice show to interact with the fans a bit. Maybe have some polls, have people post their experiences, and the show could be more about "presenting" all the information that they've "collected".

Id love to see it. Right now I am on the fence on getting a mac book pro for my next laptop. I admit I am a closet mac fanboy. Now that apple has gone to the Intel chip they make an compelling choice over a pc laptop. If I get a Mac Book pro I can have the best of both worlds with boot camp and or parallels. I wish the mac book pros would come out with an HDMI out for HDTV. The other thing I am hoping apple will do is give their new mac minis a digital tuner card for cable. Id totally get a mac mini if it were an hd apple tv and pvr solution. I am patiently waiting for the white led mac book pros due out later this year.

It's a great idea everybody! Wil and I discussed this the other day about how to do a Mac versus PC segment. Our feeling now is that each of us gives our personal take on which is better...I think we picked the systems we have for very different reasons. We'll work on it for Episode 20 since 18 is almost done and 19 is pretty much on tape already.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Thank you Hahn. I can't wait for the episode. I've been helping a lot of friends purchase their first computers and lately I have been advising them to get macs because of the windows vista problems. I actually have my copy of Windows Vista Ultimate sitting on my desk in the box. I had to go back to xp because there are no nforce2 drivers for vista nor a decent driver for my creative labs xfi platinum sound card. I will definitely use Windows Vista(for my gaming rig) when I can upgrade this computer to a new dual core system but not until then. All of the problems I had with vista made me encourage my friends to go to the mac. I am patiently waiting for the new mac book pro update for next year. I want the mac book pro with the white led screen. If it comes out :) I've been getting more and more face time with the new Intel macs and love them. Help me justify my yearning for a mac book pro for my next laptop. Thanks again and keep up the great work. Indigital looks awesome in widescreen. :) Gilbert King

Hey Guys I just read that parallels 3.0 has just been released and includes 3D support. It would be great if you could include a mini review of parallels 3.0. If the new parallels would let you run areoglass for vista I would be sold on switching to the mac book pro. It looks like you can run 3D games on it like counterstrike and others. Thanks Guys. Everyday Portable = Macbook (Any, but take the step down to the white ones unless you like paying about $200 for color and a slightly larger HD.)

Gaming, High end Photo/Video editing Portable = Macbook Pro

Everyday Sys/DVR = Mac mini (DVR too) or iMac.

Gaming High end Editing = Mac Pro.

But Wait until AFTER WWDC to buy!!

Here in the UK, The Gadget Show came up with an interesting way to do a Mac / PC laptop comparison. Basically, two presenters had to do a video report + photos and an article of some event or other - one had a MacBook, the other a PC laptop.

They both had to import/edit a video and photos and do a write up, then email it off and they compared how easy it was, how long it took and how good the finished product looked for each.

Might be an interesting way to do a comparison - and would work for other devices where you have two similar products too. Two presenters get set a task with similar hardware, then talk about the result (or have the third presenter do the judging).

I will be waiting until os x 10.5 comes out. I am also hoping that they release the mac book pros with the white led backlit screens. I want to buy one of the new 32 gig flash hard drives too for my new mac book. There is something sexy about having a flash drive as your main hard drive. Id love the battery saving and instant on. Thankfully parallels 3.o came out so I can play my 3d games on the vista bootcamp partition in 3d now. Hopfully parallels 3.0 will let you do areoglass too. Woot! I want a machine that gives me the best of both worlds and its looking like the mac book pro is the winner!
